going to list this Census as I get entries, or have them sent to me by others.
The ages shown are as of the next
birthday. In a few cases they list what that date will be and I will

He is
27 American and came here in 1845. His wife is listed as ‘Mrs.’ 28 American,
sons Wm. F. 3 CAN and an infant son J. R. just born. He is also listed below in
York County and we get the full names then.
He is
listed as 23 American and came here in 1851. Gotta be
a dual listing for Alonzo.
She is
75 and widowed. She was born in the United States and came here in 1783. She is
listed as ‘infirm.’
She is
listed as Petman, but could be a Putman or
Putnam. She is 45 and born in the United
States. She came here in 1843.
Alonzo
is listed here as 27 and a hotelkeeper. His wife Mary Frances Guison is 28, William F. 2 and John R. 1. This entry says
all of them were born here, but Alonzo was born in Maine. . Alonzo is a son of
Amos Putnam and Christina Wormwood from Aroostook County Maine. Alonzo moved to
Canada in 1845 and married Frances Mary Guison here
in New Brunswick on May 18, 1848. They will move back to Maine in the 1850s.
They are in Dover, Piscataquis County in 1860 and 1870 and Hancock County Maine
in 1880. Alonzo is widowed there in 1900.

US 1771, William Graff 19 UC 1832, a grandson, son of his daughter Lucy, and
his daughter Liddy (Lydia) 17 UC 1834. Asaph was a son of Benajah Putnam (608a)
and Elizabeth Livermore of Dummerston, Vermont. He was born there February 26,
1784. Asaph came to Canada in the early 1800s. He will be with his son Ezra in
the 1871 census and will die in Wolford May 16, 1871. This line is Asaph

14 CAN and in a boarding house of sorts. He is single in a boarding house in
Leeds County Ontario in 1861. There is Asaph Ezra a son of Joel Stoke Putnam
and Lovilla Church, listed at home with them in
nearby Wolford. That Asaph was born April 7, 1837. This Asaph was born December
2, 1837. He will marry Amanda Cook and move to Chicago in 1880 and then
Watonwan County Minnesota in 1885. He will die there April 12, 1930. No idea as
to his folks.
He is
listed 23 CAN, a laborer. He will marry Elizabeth Jane Brumbridge
here November 8, 1853 and be here through the 1881 census. He is a son of Asaph
Putnam and Nancy Stokes. He was born October 18, 1829. He will die here on

35 CAN, Phebe McGuiggan his wife is 24 CAN and George
1 CAN. He is a son of Parks Putnam and Elizabeth Leahy, and was born October 5,
1816 here in Wolford. He is listed with his folks where he is living. He
married Phebe December 24, 1849. He will die here November 12, 1879. Franklin’s

74 USA (VT) and his wife Elizabeth Andress is 73 USA
(CT). Elizabeth will die here February 12, 1860, and Joel will die in Eatons Corners March 24, 1869. Joel is a son of Benajah
Putnam and Elizabeth Livermore. He was born in Dummerston, Vermont on June 13,
1778. He married Elizabeth about 1800 back in Vermont. They never had any children.

71 USA (VT) and his wife Elizabeth Leahy is 64 USA (ONT), Hymenius

son of Benajah Putnam and Elizabeth Livermore. He was born in Dummerston,
Vermont on September 17, 1781. He married Elizabeth June 23, 1807. They are

33 CAN, a farmer. He will marry Mary Ann Wickware
here in 1852, and she will die just after childbirth of their daughter Mary
Ann. She died in May 1856. He then married Letitia Magee in 1857. They will be
here in 1861 and 1871. He is a son of Parks Putnam and Elizabeth Leahy and was

Putnam and Nancy Stokes, and was born in Wolford on December 9, 1822. He
married Jane on April 18, 1844 in Montague, Lanark County. They will be here in
1861 and then move to Muskoka County by the 1871. He will remain there in

is a son of Ephron Putnam and Miriam Doty. He married Olive in Cornwell
December 9, 1914. They are here in 1861 too. This line is Robert > Ephron

42 CAN a farmer. His wife Pamelia Coolidge has just died in the past two
months. He will marry Sarah Ann Blanchard in 1852 and they will be here in the
1861. He will die in 1865, and Sarah will marry William Parks. She and the kids
will be in Lanark County in 1871. He is a son of Parks Putnam and Elizabeth Leahey. He was born here January 12, 1810. William >

32 CAN, his wife Mary Ann Donovan 26 CAN and James 2 CAN. He is a son of Asaph
Putnam and Nancy Stokes, and was born in Wolford on May 1, 1820. He married
Mary Ann January 9, 1848. They will be here in 1861 and 1871, and then go to
Leelanau County, Michigan about 1872 and be there until he dies May 6, 1906.

25 CW, Mary Jane Myers is 24 CW, Elizabeth 6, and William H. 2. They will be
here through 1861, and James is widowed here in 1871 and 1881. No idea as to
his folks though. He would be Dutch though.
Couldn’t
read age, but he is about 17. He is a son of Jacob and Rebecca, and will be
married here in 1861.

56, Rebecca Young 50, Henry 23, Andrew 13 and Jacob 11. They are here in 1861,
1871 and 1881. Jacob is a son of Henry Putman and Hannah Anguish of Bertie. He
was born there. His father came up here after the Revolution and married Hannah

(Connecticut), Charlotte Corde 22, William Wallace
18, Helen Marr 17, Marietta 15, Eliza Jane 13, Thomas Rolfe 11, Emeline Louisa
9, Flora 7 and John Wesley 5. The kids were all born here in Canada. Also here
is Margaret Wear 19 CAN. Joshua is number 1142, a son of Seth Putnam (452c) and
Sarah Harden. Seth was born in Lunenburg, Mass. on September 16, 1756 and died
in Putnam, Ontario September 3, 1827. Sarah was born in Nova Scotia on May 14,
1763 and died in the mid 1820s. Joshua was born in Putnam, Ontario January 5,
1798. He was married twice before marrying Mary March 29, 1828. Don’t know his
first wife, but he married Malinda Flanagan February 15, 1821. She died
September 11, 1827. The family was in Detroit, Michigan in the 1825 Territory
Listings. Not sure when he came back up here, but probably in the 1820s. He
will remain here till he dies September 19, 1859. Mary will die September 19,
1865. All the sons will shortly be in Michigan and will remain there. This line

He
operates a sawmill, and is 48 UC, Nancy Harris his second wife is 30 UC, Harriet
Ann 19, Marshall Spring 15, Ephraim 7, Alanson Harris 5 and Thomas John 3. The
first two kids are by his first wife Nancy Dygert.
All the kids were born in Upper Canada (Dorchester, Ontario). Just to finish
off the family, William Byron will be born in 1854 and Warren E. in 1857.
Thomas is number 1144 another of Seth Putnam and Sarah Harden. He was born in
Delaware, Upper Canada on October 28, 1804 and will die in Hamilton, Ontario
March 26, 1880. His line is the same as Joshua’s: Thomas (1144) > Seth (452c) > Thomas
(189) > Seth (49) > Thomas (12) > Thomas (3) > John (1).
He is a
tavern keeper, 34 UC, Orpha Wells his second wife is 22 UC, Aldridge Darius 3
and George M. 1 UC. He will also have a son Franklin in 1855 and Frederick in
1857. He is number 2527. His first wife was Eliza Waite, they were married here
December 21, 1843. His father was Joshua Putnam and his first wife whose name
is not known. Joshua (1142) was a son Seth Putnam and Sarah Harden of
Lunenberg, Massachusetts. They are in Oxford County Ontario in 1861.The family
will be in Kansas City Missouri by 1870. Orpha will die in 1871, and he will
marry Sarah Angeline Tuller in Waco, McLennan County,
Texas on June 12, 1879. They are there in 1880 and he will die there in 1893.
Angeline is shown widowed there in 1900. Aldridge will be in Bowie County,
Texas in 1880. He married Ida E. Perkley there on
June 10, 1873. His line is George (2527) > Joshua (1142) > Seth (452c)

William
was number 1141, yet another son of Seth Putnam and Sarah Hardin. He was killed
in a Canadian Rebellion at Windsor in 1838. He was married to Eleanor Dygert who is listed next with her son Thomas Henry. The
kids are all still here except two sons who died earlier (William in 1826 and
Ephraim in 1842) and two sisters who are married (Sarah and Nancy Ellen). All
their lines go back through William (1141) > Seth (452c) > Thomas (189)

THOMAS HENRY PUTNAM North Dorchester, Middlesex, Ontario
He is
number 2520, and is 31 UC, Almira Griffith his wife is 29 UC, William 9 UC,
Martha Ellen 3 UC and Sarah Ann 1 UC. They will be in Dayton, Michigan by the
mid 1860s, and in the 1870 his mother Eleanor (then 73 NY) will be with him. They
split up, Almira and the kids are still here in Middlesex in 1861. Guess she
didn’t was to go that creepy United States neck of the woods.

He is
number (2522) and is 26 UC, his wife Mary McGaffee is
20 UC and their son Charles Israel is 1 UC.

not listed but is number (2524), who is 23 now, but is off someplace

ISAAC DYGERT PUTNAM
North Dorchester, Middlesex, Ontario
He is number
(2525) and is 21 UC. Warner, Isaac and Charles will all be in Pinal County,
Arizona in the early 1870s and be there in the 1880 Census.
He is
37 NY, Elizabeth Barnes his wife is 36 NY, Melvina M. 14 CAN, John W. 11 CAN,
Josephine 8 CAN Ellen 5 CAN. Also here are his folks John Putman 64 NJ and
Sarah Martin 58 NJ. Sarah was a daughter of Mulford Martin and Betsy Rolfe from Seneca County New York. They
are in Elgin East in 1871 and he will be there in 1881 with a new wife
Elizabeth Jane Edison. They will be married February 18, 1857. His folks are
from New Jersey, and came back to Barrington, Yates County and then Wayne,
Steuben County, New York about 1812. This is a Dutch family that started out in
the Albany area of New York back in 1659. Mulford was born in Wayne in 1815. He
moved with his folks to Delhi, Norfolk, Ontario in about 1838. This line is
Mulford > John Putman and Sarah Martin > Peter Putman and Sarah Kinnan > Victor Putman and Margaret Weiss > David
Putman and Helena Beekman > Jan Poutman. Nmiidleton, Norfolk County Ontario with he first wife
Elizabeth Barnes and his folks in 1851.

32 USA (NY), Theodocia 26 USA (NY), James 8 CAN and
John 6 CAN. He is Mulford’s brother and a son of John and Sarah. His middle
name is for his grandmother, Sarah Kinnon. They will
be in Lockport, Niagara County, New York in 1860, in Schuyler County, New York
in 1870, and in Alleghany County, NY in 1880. He was naturalized here in 1848.
He will be a railroad engineer in NY and his kids will be with the railroad
then as well.
She is
Eleanor Dygert widow of William Putnam. She is 54 USA
and living with her daughter Ellen 17 CAN. The rest of the kids are all back in
Dorchester, Middlesex County, Ontario. See that listing for the line.
She is
41 IRE and listed with a Graff family. She is a daughter of Asaph Putnam and
Nancy Stokes from Grenville County Ontario. She married John Graff Jr. in
Grenville County in 1831. Have no clue why they used her maiden name. The other
two guys in town are sons of Asaph and Nancy as well. She will be here in Ross Township
till she dies July 4, 1876 (100 year anniversary of the U.S. getting it
together against England), and till he dies January 26, 1892. Asaph was from
Vermont before heading up here.
Ephron
Elijah Putnam is 24 CAN and a farmer. His wife Lodemia
Putnam is 23 CAN and they have a 1-year-old daughter Olive Letitia. He is a
farmer. He is a son of Daniel Putnam and Ann Snetsinger. Lodemia
is a Putnam herself and a daughter of Asaph Putnam and Nancy Stokes from Grenville
County. Her brother John and his family live either with them or next door.
They will be in Blenheim, Kent in 1861, 1871, 1881 and 1891, but separated in
1891. His line is Ephron > Daniel > Ephron (607) > Asaph (221) >
Isaac (58) > Edward (13) > Thomas (3) > John (1).
He is a
farmer next to Ephron. He is 38 CAN. His wife Elizabeth Brown is 37 CAN and
they have William B. 13, Ruth Amelia 12, Roxy Ann 10, Hester Ann 8, Charles W.
6, Harrison L. 6, Ezra B. 3 and George W. less than a year old all born in
Canada. He is a son of Asaph Putnam and Nancy Stokes. He was born in Wolford,
Grenville County April 4, 1818, and will die in Blenheim, Kent November 19,
1906. He married Elizabeth Brown October 9, 1838.They are still here in 1861.
