Early Canadian
Tax Lists & Census Data
UPDATED AUGUST 23,
2021
There
were various Tax rolls and lists taken, mostly in Ontario in the early to mid
1800s. None of the Censuses were indexed fully until 1871 for just Ontario and
1881 for all of Canada. The data listed here is far from complete, but every
little bit is a huge help in figuring out who these Putnam and Putmans are.
These entries are simply ones that people have taken time to go through data
line by line till they found what they were looking for. Many thanks to these
folks!
If
ANYONE has any bits and pieces of similar info, please send to me (BillPutman@aol.com) and I’ll post them
here.
