There
are a huge number of Patmans, Patmons,
Pitmans and Pittmanns in
George, both White and Black families. When I first did these censuses all I
had were the Soundex Cards and many of the Putman entries turn out to be Patmans now that I can actually access the actual pages.
Floyd County was a real mess till I could eliminate virtually all the entries I
thought were Putmans but were Patmans that I could
trace back and forward. Thanks Ancestry.com
