1910 and 1920, as are her folks. They were married here June 20, 1895. He is a
son of William and Susan Putman from Dublin, Mercer County Ohio. He was home
there in 1870, and with the family in Adams County Indiana in 1880. German
family from Pennsylvania.
JAMES (KILPATRICK) PUTMAN Montpelier, Blackford County

Aug 1896. He is an oil well contractor. He is a son of Norman Putman and his
second wife Margaret Kilpatrick from Crawford County Pennsylvania in 1860 and
Venango County Pennsylvania in 1870, and I don’t find any of them in 1880. They
are in Lawrence County Illinois in 1910. Then they are all in Tulsa Oklahoma by
1920 and still in 1930. By then he runs an oil field supply company.

Edward Henry 19 IN, Florence Elva Dora 16 IN, Lucia Leona 12 IN and Clara
Christine 10 IN. They were here in 1880. He is a son of John Henry Puttmann and Christina Charlotte Storig.
Folks were born in Alsace-Lorraine Germany. He was born in Indiana June 4, 1857
and will die here in New Point April 18, 1923. He married Hester here June 19,
1878. She will die in 1914 and he will marry Ottilia
R. Enneking in 1917.
FREDERICK PUTNAM Muncie, Delaware County
He is
82 NH born Feb 1818 and the father in law of Edward and Mary Olcott. He has
been here since the 1840s, and his daughter and son in law were with him back
in 1880. Looks like his wife Susan Sawyer has died recently. He is number 2559,
a son of Elisha D. Putnam (1150) and Nancy Melville. He was born in
Charlestown, New Hampshire February 11, 1818. He came out here in the 1830s and
runs an iron and hardware business, F. E. Putnam & Co.

Lafayette and Jennie Frederick. He is a bookkeeper. John S. is listed as a
‘grandson-step.’ Charles and Daisy have been married for one year (January 5,
1899), so Charles was married earlier to another gal also born in Indiana. They
are in Council Bluffs, Iowa by 1920. He is the son of George Carlton and
Elizabeth Putnam. In 1860 he was at home in Rochester, New York.
ORINAL PUTNAM New Albany, Floyd County
He is
Oranal Webster Putnam. He is 49 OH Nov 1850, and
widowed. He has with him Albertina 25 MO Oct 1874, Minnie (Alice) 23 MO Aug
1876 and his mother Sophia (Bliss) 71 VT born Aug 1828. He is a son of Aaron
Sidney Putnam. In 1850 they were in Madison County Ohio in 1850, LaSalle County
Illinois in 1860 and in Ray County Missouri by 1880. They have made just about
a complete circle in the last 50 years. His dad came from New Hampshire and has
recently died here. Aranul will next go to Will
County Illinois and be living with his daughters at the home of his (now dead)
wife's mother, Olive Ames in Will County Illinois, and be there in 1910. Then,
he will go to Braceville, Grundy County Illinois
where he will die December 12, 1917. According to his death certificate, he was
a railroader, so that's why he was forever moving around. His daughter
Albertina gave that info on the death certificate.
LAFAYETTE PUTNAM Attica, Fountain County

1893. He is a son of Lafayette Putnam and Lucy Almeda Dustin. He was born in
Milwaukee June 5, 1850 and will die in Detroit, Michigan October 13, 1921. He
was home in 1850 in Milwaukee, and then in Marshall County Illinois in 1860 and
St. Louis, Missouri in 1870. He was married to Mary Elizabeth there in 1880,
and then they came up to Indiana about 1890. They are in Indianapolis in 1910
until they die, she in 1919 and he in 1921.
DAVID PUTMAN Henry Township, Fulton County
He is
a son of Jacob and Susan Putman, PA German folks who were in Hancock County
Ohio in 1850 and here in 1860. David is 41 IN born August 12, 1858, Melissa
Jane Ginn 38 IN born August 19, 1861, Audra Jacob 15 IN born Sep 1884, Claud E.
10 IN born July 14, 1889 and died September 18, 1919, Folen
Alvin a son 8 IN born Apr 1892 and Velda 3 IN born Oct 1896. They are here in
1920. Melissa will die June 18, 1928 and David on March 14, 1946.
IRA PUTMAN Henry Township, Fulton County

31 IN born Nov 1868, Livenea Lulu Davis 29 IN born
Feb 1871. Ira will die here in 1933, Luvenea in 1923.
He is a son of Jacob Peter Putman and Susanna Lininger. They live near each
other, however. Jacob was a son of Jacob Putman and Elizabeth Gross. Ira was
born here November 1, 1868 and will die in Akron, Fulton County April 17, 1933.
Lulu was born in Indiana February 14, 1871 and will die here in Henry August 7,
1923.
JACOB PUTMAN Henry Township, Fulton County
PA German
as stated just above. He's been here since the 1850s. He is now widowed at age
78 OH born Jun 1821 and has his daughter Lavinia E. 34 IN born March 7, 1866
with him. She will marry Benjamin Franklin Clevenger in 1909 and then die here
July 27, 1938. Jacob will die here March 30, 1908. His wife Susanna Lininger
died here April 29, 1891.

51 OH born Jan 1849 and a brother in law of George A. Burns. He is a son of
Peter and Margaret Putman (PA German family). He was born in Wyandotte County
Ohio and was with the family in 1850.

He is
82 PA and living with Susan Lorenzo as a father in law. He is a son of Jacob
Putman and Elizabeth Gross from Somerset County PA and German. He was in
Wyandotte County Ohio in 1850 and here since then.

there in 1880. His dad is a son of Daniel Putman and Lucinda Colbert from Ohio
and now Brown County Illinois Southern Putman family.

certificate that he was born in Spencer County Indiana June 30, 1871 and died
in Mt. Carmel, Wabash County Illinois November 10, 1938 and was buried there on
November 11th. Best news was his folks were John Putman and Louise
Riley

is 48 IN born Sep 1851, Jesse her son is 20 IN born Feb 1880. She is listed as
Flora here in 1910, and her son Jesse is married here by then. They don't
appear in 1880 so I have no clues as to her husband.

Marsh Putnam from Licking County Ohio. He is a Presbyterian Minister. The kids
were born in Monroe, Michigan where he preached from 1871 to 1881. He then went
to Missouri, and then here to preach in October 1887. Jennie will be widowed in
Cass County in 1910, 1920 and 1930.
ALLEN PUTMAN Center Township, Grant County
He is
59 OH born Jan 1840 and living at the National Military Home. He is also listed
over in Marshall County Illinois living with his sister Hannah Carter. He is the
son of Frederick Putman and was with the family in Peoria, Illinois in 1850 and
1860. He will be discharged from here July 2, 1902 and go to and die in the
National Military Home in Danville, Illinois August 25, 1905. He never married.
JOHN B. PUTNAM Center Township, Grant County
He is
59 PA born Jul 1840 and in the National Military Home here. He would be a son
of Clark and Mary Putnam from North East Township, Erie County Pennsylvania. He
was married and in Shawnee County Kansas in 1870 and Reno County Kansas in
1880. He is here still in 1910.
JAMES G. (GARFIELD) PUTNAM Liberty Township, Hendricks County
He is
23 ME born Apr 1877, Pearl Belle Holden his wife 23 IN born Jul 1876. He is a
son of George Alvin Putnam and Lucy Adeline Rea. James was born in Kittery,
Maine, but his folks were only there a short while. Before that they were in
Lyndeborough, N.H., and then to Andover, Massachusetts, and then his folks
moved to Vineland, N.J. His mom will die there and his dad will join him in
Washington in 1915. Anyway, James is a physician. He graduated from Loyola
University in Chicago, and will be off to Everett, Washington where he will
practice for a great many years. His line goes back James G. > George A.

72 IN born Aug 1827, Elizabeth Smith 65 IN born Jul 1834. One of the Southern
Putmans. He is James' son. James senior was from Culpeper County VA. This James
has moved over from Whitley County.
EDWARD (MILLER) PUTNAM Union Township, Jasper County

44 IN born Feb 1856, Mary Alice Steward 39 IN born Mar 1861, Rufus Pitt 19 IN
born Oct 1880, Addie M. 17 IN born Jun 1882, Charles M. 12 IN born Oct 1887,
Essie M. and Jesse R. twins 10 IN born May 1890. Also there is his father Aaron
Jefferson Putnam 86 NY born Aug 1813. They were in Allen County in 1850 and
1860 and then in Newton County in 1870 and 1880. The daughter Addie will marry
William O. Williams here on February 11, 1902. Dutch family from New York. Gets
interesting as Ed and Nary Alice and their daughter Essie M. are in Hickory,
Oklahoma in 1910 and he is a house carpenter as he is now. Then they are back
here in Newton County Indiana in 1920.
BENJAMIN PUTMAN Michigan City, La Porte County

24 KY born May 1876, and a prisoner in the Indiana State Prison. No good ideas.

MI Apr 1889, Eugene 9 IN Jan 1891 and Edna 7 IN Nov 1893. He was single in
South Bend in 1880. He is William Eugene Putnam who was born May 25, 1861 in
Goodrich, Michigan. He graduated Rush Medical College in Chicago in 1899 and he
became a doctor and started his own practice in Whiting, Lake County in 1897.
He married Jennie E. Wilson here and they are there in 1900 through the 1920
census. He died there November 19, 1923. Jennie is widowed there in 1930 and
1940 with their three kids who were never married.
JOSEPH PUTNAM Anderson, Madison County
He is
23 IL MA ENG AUG 1876 and boarding. He is a railroad brakeman. He is a son of
Henry Francis Putnam and Ada Isabel Price and was born in Champaign County
Illinois August 8, 1876 and will die out in Riverside, California September 25,
1967. His dad was a son of William Pitt Putnam and Minerva Harris from New York
and then Illinois. Henry his dad divorced Ada a year after Joseph was born and
they were with Minerva in Ogden, Champaign County Illinois in 1880. Henry is
out in Oregon now with a new wife. Joe will marry Etta Bond here soon, and then
they will move out to Brown County South Dakota and be there by 1910 and
through 1930 at least. New England family.

46 VT born April 1854, Maggie Ulrich 41 IN born Feb 1859, Perley M. (a
daughter) 17 IN born Mar 1883 and Harry L. (Leonard) 14 IN born Nov 1885. He is
a son of Horace Putnam and Marianna Antoinette Woodward, and was shown at home
with them in the 1860 census in Northfield, Washington County Vermont. Horace
was from Franconia, NH a son of Perley Putnam and Mary Ann Cole. He married
Maggie here June 19, 1876. They were here in 1880.
JAMES PUTNAM West Township, Marshall County
He is
51 MI (really Ohio) born Nov 1848, Emeline Rough 41 MI born Jul 1858, Alvah E. 21 MI born Feb 1879. He is a son of Jacob Putman
and Susan Linniger from Hancock County Ohio. In 1860
and 1870 he was in Fulton County Indiana with his folks. He was in Berrien County
Michigan in 1880, and back here now.
HEZEKIAH PUTMAN Peru, Miami County
He is
42 MD born May 1858, Martha A. Wilkinson 37 IN born Mar 1863, Omer E. 11 MO born
Jun 1888, Roy A. 10 IN born Nov 1889 and John F. 10/12 IN born Jul 1899. He is
part of the German gang from Frederick County Maryland. His folks were Samuel
Putman and Elizabeth Ann Fisher. He was single at home in 1880. He married
Laura Alice Stiner June 28, 1887. She died in the early 1890s. They moved to
Missouri and opened a General Store. That didn’t work out, so they moved to
here and works repairing Railroad trains. After Laura died, he married Martha
Ann Wilkinson here in Indiana on November 25, 1896. He will still be here in
1910 and 1920.
ROSE PUTMAN Bloomington, Monroe County
She
is 10 IN born Dec 1889 and the adopted daughter of Maggie Hodges. Both of her
parents were born in Germany.
CHESTER PUTNAM Crawfordsville, Montgomery County
He is
27 IL born Jan 8, 1873, Lottie Matheny 23 IL born Nov 1876, Luther E. 4 IL born
Nov 1895 and Ralph W. 2 IL born Aug 1898. He is a son of Luther Putnam from
Licking County Ohio (and a grandson of Charles Marsh Putnam). Chester Curtis
was with his folks in 1880 in Champaign County Illinois where he was born. He
married Lottie there September 15, 1894. They are in Colorado Springs, Colorado
in 1910 and Chester is widowed in Bell County Texas in 1920. He works as a
mechanic for the railroad is why he travels so much.
LYDIA PUTNAM Albion, Noble County
She
is 63 OH Mar 1837 and living alone. She is Lydia Rice, the widow of Erastus
Putnam who died here August 4, 1894. She will die here October 9, 1905. There
were here in Noble County in 1880. He was originally from Monroe County
Michigan.

County

is 41 IN born Oct 1858, Harry 16 IN born Aug 1883, Zada 13 IN born Jun 1886.
Martha and Harry are in Curry County New Mexico in 1910, and then in Chicago by
1930. In looking at the 1910 New Mexico, I figured Martha was married to Henry
R. Putnam, a son of Harrison and Christine Putnam from Winnebago County
Wisconsin. He was in Curry County with a new wife Henrietta. In 1920 Henry is
in Wichita Falls, Texas and Zada is there with him and this ties Henry and
Martha together. Interesting.
RUFUS PUTNAM Mt. Vernon, Posey County
He is
28 KY born Nov 1871 and boarding. He is a son of Adrian and Jane Putnam from
Meade County Kentucky and was with them in 1880. The family was from Massachusetts
before settling in Louisville for several generations. He will marry Nora Mills
here in a couple of weeks on June 27, 1900. They will be here in 1910 and in
Vanderburgh County in 1920.
EMERY PUTMAN Anderson, Rush County
He is
25 IN born Jan 1875 and boarding. He is a son of Henry Putman from Fayette
County. Part of the Southern family up from Kentucky. Henry was Joseph's son
JOHN PUTMAN Mishawaka, St. Joseph County
He is
32 MI born Sep 1867, Hattie 31 NY born Feb 1869. They have been married 6
years. No children, but do have a bunch of boarders. He looks to be the son of
Ira and Rosamond Putnam from Cass County Michigan. He was shown at home in
1870.
ALVA B. PUTNAM South Bend, St. Joseph County
He is
52 IN born April 1848. He is boarding. He is Alva Jr., his dad's from
Massachusetts. He was born in Marshall County and has been in St. Joseph since
1860. He was married to Lydia Miser here in the 1870s and widowed by 1880. In
1910, he is in Washington DC still by himself.

is 77 NY Jan 1823 and the mother in law of David Lobbell,
who married her daughter Lillian. She is Lucy Ann Lobbell,
the widow of Alva B. Putnam from Massachusetts and was here with him back in
1850.
CARRIE H. PUTNAM Angola, Steuben County
She
is 53 IN born Dec 1846, and lives alone. She is Carrie Jarrard
(Girard) who married Charles Putman here on October 29, 1885. She is here in
1910 and in 1920.
MATILDA PUTMAN Jefferson Township, Sullivan County
She
is 53 IN born Sep 1846 and living with her daughter Fanny Douthitt.
EDWARD C. PUTMAN Evansville, Vanderburgh County
He is
40 NH born Feb 1860, Lillian 30 PA born June 1869. Most likely not a Putman as
such.
RUFUS E. PUTMAN Terre Haute, Vigo County
He is
32 KY OH KY born Jan 1868 and lodging. He is a son of Rufus Putnam and Emma
Howard from Louisville, Kentucky. He was there in 1880 at age 2 and then off on
his way here I guess in 1900. He was born in Louisville January 9, 1878 and
will be back there and die on October 30, 1934. He is also listed now in Grimes
County Texas. Wandering around a wee bit it seems. His middle Initial is E. and
I’ll bet it stands for Everywhere.
WILLIAM H. PUTMAN Noble Township, Wabash County
He is
50 IN Oct 1849 and boarding. He is a son of George and Elizabeth Putman and has
been here all his life. George was from New Hampshire and was here in the
1840s. He died and his mom, Elizabeth, married George's brother Joseph. All
these various parents are now off in Heaven or somewhere.
JOSEPH PUTMAN Waltz Township, Wabash County
He is
Joseph Squire Putnam and has been here all his life. His dad (George Putnam)
was from New Hampshire. He is now 47 IN born Jan 1853, Alice Stoops his wife is
38 IN born Oct 1861, William and Edward, twins, 17 IN born Feb 1883, Ethel 15
IN born Mar 1885, Homer 11 IN born Oct 1888, Lawrence 9 IN born Jul 1890, Roy
(Leroy) 8 IN born Apr 1892, Blanche 5 IN born Mar 1895 and Geneva 3 IN born May
1897. Looks like Alice has been pregnant every day of her life, no wonder they
haven't been able to move. They will have another son, Warren, in 1902 and then
that will be that.
OLLIE PUTNAM Williamsport, Warren County
She
is 14 IN born Dec 1885. She is in the Warren County Orphan's Home. The name
could also be Lillie, but can’t find her under any name.
CHARLES PUTMAN Skelton Township, Warwick County
He is
32 IN born Feb 1867, Anna Davis his wife is 22 IN born May 1878 and Frances
5/12 IN born Dec 1899. He is Charles Michael ‘Mack’ Putman a son of James
Putman and Mary Jane ‘Belle’ Powers. He was born in Rockport, Spencer County
Indiana February 28, 1867. They will move soon to Morehouse, New Madrid County
Missouri and be there for the rest of their lives. Then, just as a matter of
interest, my ggggfather Daniel Putman went up to Warwick
County Indiana from Kentucky and South Carolina before that. His wife was Prudy Skelton, and several of her brothers went here with
Daniel and his family. Skelton Township is named after her brother Zachariah
Skelton, and a generation or two later, a descendent of his, Red Skelton the
comedian, was born here. Daniel by the way was a judge in Warwick County.
CHARLES PUTMAN Jefferson Township, Whitley County
A Southern
Putman guy, son of Joseph and Eliza Putman, is still here. He is now 49 IN born
Aug 1850. Emma has died December 25, 1897. He has a daughter Rosa 11 IN born
Feb 1889 with him. He will be remarried in 1910 and 1920 and be in Fort Wayne,
Allen County. Charles was born August 20, 1850 and will die here July 16, 1930.
PERRY PUTMAN Jefferson Township, Whitley County
He is
Perry Alfred Putman a son of Charles and Emma Robinett
Putman also living nearby. He is 28 IN born Jul 1871, Effie Adelia Smith 25 IN
born Oct 1874, Merle D. 8 IN born Feb 1892, Joseph L. 6 IN born Jan 1894 and
Solon G. 2 IN born Nov 1897. Perry was born here in Jefferson Township July 20,
1871 and will die here in Whitley County October 26, 1952. Effie was born here
in Jefferson Township November 3, 1874 and will die right here July 29, 1954.
They were married here March 26, 1891.

in 1920 and 1930 too. He is a son of son of Joseph Putman and Eliza Conklin
from Fayette County. He was married to Emma in 1880 in Whitely County and
widowed there in 1900. Charles was born August 20, 1850 and will die July 16,
1930. His second wife Rosa King will be born soon in 1881 and will die here in
1954.

folks Garrett and Lydia Van Arsdale. He is a son of William and Susan Putman from
Dublin, Mercer County Ohio. He was home there in 1870 and in Adams County
Indiana in 1880. German family from Pennsylvania. They were here in 1900 and
will be in 1920 and 1930.

70 NY, Mary A. 38 OH, John W. 35 MI, Edna E. 30 MI. She is Jennie Hassert Williamson, widow of Douglas Perkins Putnam from
here in Logansport. He was a Minister, and a son of Charles Marsh Putnam of
Licking County Indiana. They were in Monroe County Michigan in 1880, then they
went to Springfield, Missouri till 1887, and then in October 1887, went back to

in 1880, and then they came up to Indiana about 1890. He is a foreman at a
plaster plant. They are in Indianapolis until they die, she in 1919 and he in
1921.

June 19, 1876. Maggie will be widowed here in 1920.

and Elizabeth Ann Fisher. He was single at home in 1880. He married Laura Alice
Stiner June 28, 1887. She died in the mid 1890s. They had moved to Missouri and
opened a General Store. That didn’t work out, so they moved to here and works
repairing Railroad trains. After Laura died, he married Martha Ann Wilkinson
here in Indiana on November 25, 1896, and they were here in 1900. He will be in
Miami County in 1920.
They
are kids of Hezekiah Putman and his first wife Laura Stiner. Omer is 21 MO, Roy
is 20 IN. They live with their grandparents William and Ann Stiner. Roy will be
in Wabash County in 1920, and Omer will be in New York City.

EDWARD PUTMAN Princeton, Gibson County

45 TN, Willie Melton his wife 35 MS, Malvena 14 AL
and Edward Jr. 4 TN. He is a son of William C. Putnam and Catherine Dodge of
Knox County Tennessee and was there in 1880 through 1910. Edward Dodge Putnam
was single in 1910 and married Willie about 1914. She was born in Mississippi
May 9, 1881 and was married before to a Martin before and Malvena
is hers from that first marriage. In 1910 Willie was with her family in
Birmingham, Alabama. Edward was born in Knoxville, Tennessee December 17, 1873
and will die in Birmingham September 6, 1931. The family is originally from New
Hampshire and Massachusetts before that. Now as another little aside.... My
great great great
grandfather Daniel Putman is buried here in Princeton. He was a lawyer and then
a Judge and was responsible for forming Gibson County out of Knox County back
in 1814. Daniel was a Judge in Gibson County up till influenza got both him and
his son Thomas in 1816. Just a passing note.

1930 and 1940. She wasn’t in the 1910. In 1930 Truman is with his father
William Putnam in Pomona California. William is a son of Joseph Squire Putnam
and Alice Stoops from Wabash County Indiana. Truman was born November 22, 1903
and will die in Los Angeles County California November 8, 1957.

there in 1900. He will marry Mary Elizabeth Case November 23, 1921 and they are
back in Van Wert County in 1930. He will later marry Lee Morrison. German
family out of Pennsylvania like most everyone in Van Wert County.
DOUGLAS PUTNAM Gary, Lake County

22 IL, Nellie Pauline Mitchell 18 IL. He is Douglas Perkins Putnam a son of
Charles Marsh Putnam and Anna Mae McDonald of Champaign County Illinois. His
mother Anna has married Arden Stoner and his sister Elizabeth 15 IL is with
them here in Gary. They will head to Michigan where their son Douglas will be
born in a few months. By 1930 they are in Indianapolis where he runs a car
dealership. Doug was born April 15, 1897 in Dewey, Champaign County Illinois
and will die in Michigan in January 1964. Nellie is a daughter of Leonard
Mitchell and Mary Eva ‘Maddie’ Swartzwalter and was
born in Sydney, Champaign County April 11, 1901 and will die September 14, 1989
in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This line actually goes back to General Israel
Putnam from Connecticut.

in Fulton County Indiana with his folks. He was in Berrien County Michigan in
1880, and back here in 1900. The son Alvah was/is
married to Elsa Viola Dill. They were married here in Marshall County Indiana
December 25, 1900. She is presently in South Bend, St. Joseph County Indiana
and also has Helen listed with her. Alvah will marry
Maude Miller in a couple of months in Berrien County Michigan October 14, 1920.
Then in 1930 Alvah is here in West Township married
to a Frances. Pennsylvania German Family.

He is
64 IN and Mary Alice Steward is 59 IN. He is a son of Aaron Putman from Allen
County. New York Dutch family. They were here in 1880 and in Jasper County in
1900 and then in Hickory Oklahoma in 1910. He is widowed in Jasper County in
1930. He is a carpenter as he has been in the last 20 some years.
WARREN PUTMAN French Lick, Orange County
He is
a son of Sylvester Jr. and was at home in Dubois County in 1900, and married in
Martin County in 1910. He is now 31 IN, Daisy Belle Jones 25 IN and Glenn 5 IN.
His dad is in Pike County now.
SYLVESTER PUTNAM No Township, Pike County
He
was in Dubois County in 1900, and in Martin County in 1910. He is a son of
Sylvester and Elizabeth and was in Wabash County in 1840 and on. He is now 71
IL and living as the father in law of Horace McGrady. Horace married his
daughter Sylvania.
He is
a son of Michael Putman and Melissa Inman from Sandusky County Ohio in 1880 and
1900. Pennsylvania German family. They were here in 1910. He is 43 OH, Lucy
Doty 39 IL, Lucy Alfredia 5 IN. Also there are Lucy's folks, Charles Doty 73 IL
and Minnie Doty 59 WI.

He is
38 MI, Mary E. Burton 37 MI and Cecil 14 MI. Albert was in Joliet, Illinois in
1910, but had a wife Gertrude A. Reid from Canada then. Cecil was there then so
I know it’s the same guy. He is the son of Eber Lewis Putnam and Justina Batson
Putnam as shown in 1900 in Geneva, Van Buren County Michigan. They are here in
1930 and 1940.
ELSA PUTMAN South Bend, St. Joseph County
She
is 39 IN, her daughter Helen 6 IN. They are living with Albert Place who is
likely her dad. Have no idea who her husband was. Elsa Viola Dill was married
to Alvah Irvin Putman in Marshall County Indiana
December 25, 1900 as a Christmas present to each other. He is a son of James
Putman and Emeline Rough, Pennsylvania German Family. She says she is married
but I don’t think so, as Alvah will marry Maude
Miller in a couple of months in Berrien County Michigan October 14, 1920. Right
now he is living with his folks in West, Marshall County Indiana. That’s where
he was in 1900. He says he is married but only pretending.
CAROLINE PUTNAM Angola, Steuben County
She
is 72 IN NY NJ and widowed living with her son Fred Jarrard
49 IN OH IN. Also here is her brother William Palmer 60 IN NY NJ. She was
married to a Jarrard and then in 1885 married Charles
Putnam. She was single and divorced here in 1900 and in 1910. I don’t know who
Charles was though.
OSCAR M. PUTMAN Evansville, Vanderburgh County
He is
27 KY, Bertha L. Buchanan 25 KY, Vivian 2 10/12 IN. Also there is Bertha's mom,
Millie Buchanan 52 KY. They are here in
1930 too. Oscar is a son of Daniel Putman and Minnie Frances Carnithan from McLean County Kentucky in 1900. Daniel was
originally from Ohio before going to Kentucky. Dutch family originally from New
York.
RUFUS P. (PITT) PUTNAM Evansville, Vanderburgh County
He is
48 KY, Nora Mills his wife is 43 IN, Lela B. 17 IN, Rufus J. 13 IN, Robert R. 6
IN and a nephew, Guy H. 34 IN. Rufus is a son of Adrien Putnam from Meade
County Kentucky. He was with his folks in 1880 and in Posey County in 1900 and
1910. He married Nora in Posey County on June 27 1900. They are here in 1930.
Nora will die in 1934 and by 1940 Rufus will be married to Elizabeth. Guy is a
son of his brother James Lewis Putnam and his first wife. James has been in
McCracken County Kentucky since the 1890s and will be till he dies in 1936.
WALTER PUTNAM Evansville, Vanderburgh County
He is
38 IL, Dolly 9 IN. They are living with his sister Lucy Bice.
GUY H. PUTNAM Evansville, Vanderburgh County
He is
34 IN and living with Rufus P. Putnam as a nephew. Guy is a son of Rufus’
brother James Lewis Putnam and his first wife. James has been in McCracken
County Kentucky since the 1890s and will be till he dies in 1936. He is on his
third wife now. I don’t have the name of Guy’s mother, but she was from
Indiana.
LEROY PUTNAM No Township, Wabash County
He is
a son of Joseph Putnam from here. He is 27 IN, Geneva Arnold his wife is 29 IN
and Arnold 1 6/12 IN. They are in Pomona California in 1930.
EDWARD PUTNAM Wabash, Wabash County
He is
37 IN, Maude 31 IN, Ruth 14 IN, Alice 2 7/12 IN, Martha 1 2/12 IN. He is a son
of Joseph and Alice from here. His father's brother William 69 IN is here as
well. William and Joseph were sons of Joseph and Elizabeth who were from New
Hampshire and here since the 1860s. He was in Noble Township in 1910 and
married to Minnie Cook who would be 34 no. So, Maude is a second wife. They are
here in 1930.
LAWRENCE A. PUTNAM Wabash, Wabash County
He is
a son of Joseph Squire Putnam. Originally New Hampshire folks. Look back to
about 1860 for the story. He is 29 IN, May A. 22 IN, Betty L. 1 9/12 IN. His
sister in law Belle Geible 31 IN is with them. They
are moving to Chicago in the next couple of years and are there in 1930.
ROY PUTNAM Wabash, Wabash County
He is
30 IN and listed as a cousin of Lucy Striver. He is a son of Hezekiah Putnam
and his first wife Alice Steiner. He was born in Miami County and was there in
1900 and 1910. He will be married in Indianapolis in 1930. German family from
Maryland.
WILLIAM PUTNAM Wabash, Wabash County
He is
69 IL and living as an uncle to Edward Putnam. He is a son of Joseph and
Elizabeth and a brother to Ed's daddy, Joseph. He was in Noble Township here in
1900 and 1910.
He is
now 67 IN, Alice Stoops his wife is 58 IN, Warren 17 IN and Marie 15 IN. Been
here all his life, just moved to another township recently. Joe and Alice and
most of the kids are in Pomona, Los Angeles County California in 1930. Warren
will be married and in Alhambra California in 1930.
GUY S. PUTMAN No Township, Whitley County
He is
23 IN, Mabel G. 23 IN. He is Solon Guy Putman, son of Perry and was here in
1900. He is part of the Southern Putman family. Perry is Charles' son and has
been here since birth.
IRA PUTMAN No Township, Whitley County
He is
German and a son of Jacob Putman and Susan Linninger.
He has been in Fulton County since the 1870s, but must have moved here
recently. He is 51 IN, Luverna (Livonia in 1900) is 48
IN and Arvid J. 8 IN. He will be widowed in Akron,
Fulton County by 1930.
JOSEPH L. PUTMAN No Township, Whitley County
Another
of the Southern Branch guys. He is Perry's son who is also here in the county.
He was at home here in 1910. Joseph is 26 IN, Goldie 21 IN, Charles O. 3 3/12
IN and Leroy D. 1 2/12 IN.
PERRY PUTMAN No Township, Whitley County
Southern
family, a son of Charles and Rosa and here since the 1870s. He is now 48 IN, Effia Adelia Smith 45 IN, Paul R. 19 IN and Retta Mae 13
IN. Perry was born here in Jefferson Township July 20, 1871 and will die here
in Whitley County October 26, 1952. Effie was born here in Jefferson Township
November 3, 1874 and will die right here July 29, 1954. They were married here
March 26, 1891.
