that is, but was born in New York in July 1858, Alice M. Story his wife 38 OH
July 1861, Eddie R. 17 OH October 1882, Grace M. 16 OH April 1884, Florence E.
13 OH May 1887. They have been married 20 years, but this is first time I have
seen them. He is a son of George Putnam in Geneva Ashtabula County and his
first wife Polly Temple and was born in Stockton New York. He married Alice M.
Story here on July 19, 1879

is Charles Sumner Putnam, and was in the county in 1880. He is now 41 NY NY NY May 1859, Laura Eliza Stone
40 OH Jun 1860, Effie 19 OH Jun 1881, Walter 13 OH Feb 1887. They have been
married 20 years. Eliza Stone 80 OH listed mother is there, but she is Laura's
mom. Charlie married Laura Stone here on March 8, 1878. He is a son of Welcome
Putnam and Maria Louisa Flagg and a grandson of Newell Putnam (2839) from
Stockton, New York. He is the local postmaster here. Effie is a postal clerk
working with him.

a son of Gilbert Putnam (2840) and Thankful Rogers of Stockton, Chautauqua
County New York. He was here in 1880 as well.

Israel 5 OH and Dorothy 7 months OH. Harriet C. Lamb, Ida's sister is also here

that. She is 70 OH Jan 1830 and has a daughter Susana E. 44 OH Mar 1856 with
her. George was a son of David Putnam from Marietta.

census of New York, and is a son of John DeGarmo Putman and Mary Ann Roberts of
New York City. Dutch family from New York. Warren was born November 10, 1858
and married Myrtle in Washington County Ohio June 24, 1864. He will die in
Boomer West Virginia on July 11, 1903. Myrtle will be remarried by 1910 and be
in Washington County Ohio with a couple of the kids.

His widowed son Charles Thomas 45 OH Mar 1855 and Charles son James Guy Putman
21 OH Mar 1879 are living there. Charles will be remarried in 1910. He is a son
of Zachariah Putman and Winnie Collins. He was born in Mason County Kentucky on
November 21, 1815. The family came out here in 1817. In April 1841, he married
Marianne Davis. She died in 1847. On December 19, 1850, Henry married Margaret Wolgamuth. Margaret was born May 15, 1831 and will die here
December 6, 1901. Henry will die here at the age of 98 on January 16, 1913. Southern

3 OH May 1897. James Putman was born November 3, 1856. He married Sarah Alice
Prince December 14, 1879. Alice was born November 21, 1858 and died May 17,
1939. She was a daughter of Solomon Prince and Sarah Brown. They had eleven
children. He died June 22, 1956 just short of his 100th birthday. He was the
oldest licensed driver in the state of Ohio and still had his license when he

onto Tom. In 1880 he was with Mary Cunningham listed as a grandson. He might be
Rufus’ kid, but I think he belongs to Alice who must have had a little affair
back in the 1870s. I guess she brought him up. Rufus is a carpenter and Thomas
a potter. Rufus and the Thompsons are here in 1910 and Tom is married here by
then.

He is number 2038 in Eben's system He is a son of Aaron Kimball Putnam (849)
and Polly Shattuck of Wilton, New Hampshire. He was born there July 9, 1822. He
married Emeline Peavey back in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, but they never had any
children. He has been here since the 1860s. Emeline has died since 1880.

he was listed as a stepson of Dennis Smead as was his brother Fred. Fred was 2
years older and born in WI. Their mother Louisa or Lavinia had been married to
Augustus Putnam from Maine and they were in Grant County Wisconsin in 1870.
Frank and Ella are here through the 1930.

this one. She is Abbie Elizabeth Bower who was married to Walter Scott Putman
in Sugar Creek, Stark County in 1880 OH. He saw that in both cases that
both of her folks were French. Bingo!

is Laura Bond 65 NY Aug 1834 and her son Fred K. H. is 43 NY Aug 1856. She is
the ex-wife of Henry Locke Putnam (2353) from Madison, Madison County New York.
They were there in the 1860. They must have come out here in the 1870s. She was
here in 1880 as well, but Henry was back in NY.

is 43 OH and has a James Putnam 25 OH OH OH Sep 1874 with her, but listed as brother. Her mother
Lucy A. Iliff 77 OH is there as well. She runs a
boarding house. Can’t find them in 1880 or later than this. Rand found that she
is Lucy Jane Thomas and was married to Edward E. Putnam in 1888. But…... No
clue who he was or if really a Putnam.

are his mother Deborah Moody Putnam 69 OH Jan 1831 and his sister May P. Bunchfield 30 and her son John R. 5. All are from Ohio.
They are here in 1910 and Mary is widowed by 1920.

of Martin Mulford Putman and Elizabeth Jane Edison from Elgin East County
Ontario. Dutch family originally from New York State.

mother Lucy A. Putnam is 69 PA. He is a son of Lafayette Putnam and Lucy Almeda
Dustin. William was born in Milwaukee. Then they were in Marshall County
Illinois in the 1860 census, and in St. Louis, Missouri in 1870 and 1880.
William was a miller when in Missouri and is still one here now. Lafayette was
a son of Peter and Lucinda Putnam. Peter was number 2442, a son of Caleb
Putnam. He was born in Bloomfield, Ontario County New York. He married Lucy
Dustin in Jefferson County Wisconsin May 6, 1849. He married Carrie October 3,
1882. William will die soon and Carrie is widowed in Ashtabula County in 1910
and 1920 and will die there March 2, 1927. Lucy will be alone here in 1910 and
in an old age home here in 1920. She will die there December 6, 1926 at age 94.

daughter Jennie Putman. She is Caroline Matilda Burnham, widow of William Lewis
Putman (that's the way he spelled it). Lewis was from Cayuga County New York
and died in Sandusky, Erie County Ohio in 1896. He is from the Dutch Putman
family.

is 51 VA May 1849 and an officer at the Boys Industrial School. She is Sarah
Weaver widow of Clark Tarrant Putnam. They were married in Erie County
Pennsylvania December 29, 1869 and were there in 1870, then in Shawnee County
Kansas in 1875, and Doyle, Marion County Kansas in 1880, and in Shawnee County
again in 1885. Clark died October 20, 1893 in Topeka, Kansas. Sarah will die
June 22, 1905 and be buried in Cowlesville, Wyoming
County New York.

The son William Earl was born December 5, 1875 and will die here June 30, 1929.

England who came to Hartford, Connecticut in the mid 1780s. Charles has been in
the insurance business in Columbus.

the 1870 census. William Riley was a son of Riley and Hannah Putnam from
Charlotte, Chautauqua County New York. Riley was a son of Jesse Putnam and Lucy
Coleman from Chester, Windsor County Vermont. This James served in the Spanish
American War in Cuba, and in 1899 along with 12 other vets, formed the Veterans
of Foreign Wars Association. He and Mary will be in Columbus in 1910, and they
will both be here in 1920 but living separately, probably divorced.

Maryland and are part of the German family of Philip Jacob Putman.

1862. Only Anna will be here in 1920 as Ben will die January 2, 1914.

is a son of John Putman from Canada who was in Cleveland in 1880. Ed is 30 OH
Jul 1869, Catherine Clark 30 WV Nov 1870, Antoinette 8 Nov 1891, Edna 6 Oct
1893, Bessie 4 Jan 1896 and William 2 Jan 1898. All the kids are OH born. They
will get divorced soon. Catherine is here in 1910. Ed in Alabama I think and in
West Palm Beach, Florida with a new wife Anita in 1930.

Germany, it is shown as Germany in 1910. He is 56, Fernidena

75 GER is with them.

is Frances Mehs the third wife of Anthony Nicholas Puttmann who died March 18, 1889 of a heart attack. Anthony
was from the Germans here. She is 31 OH. She has a stepson Ambrose 19, and then
her own kids, Anthony 11, William 9, Raymond 7 and Martha 3. Ambrose will go
play for the New York Highlanders (later the Yankees) from 1903-1905 and then
with the St. Louis Cardinals after that for a couple of years. Ambrose will be
married here in 1904 and be here through the 1930 census.

Clara O. 16 KY Oct 1884, Alma L. 6 KY Jun 1894 and Robert L. 1 OH Jul 1899. He
was born October 27, 1860 in Lewis County Kentucky. He married Matilda Bane a
daughter of H. C. Bane and Lucy Waters in 1881 and they had five children. They
are back in Campbell County Kentucky in 1910 and 1920. He died in Campbell
County on December 15, 1942. He was 82 years old then. Matilda was born
December 1, 1864 and died in Campbell County on June 22, 1945 at age 80.

most of their lives. Ellen died August 14, 1906 in Van Wert. In 1920, Hugh is
living with his son George in Ohio City, Van Wert County and Esther appears to
have died. They are there still in 1930 and Hugh is 75 then. Hugh died back in
Rockford, Mercer County September 21, 1951 age 96. Both are buried in Ridge
Cemetery, Van Wert County.

write well. At any rate Ruel is a son of Emanuel Putman and Elizabeth Roebuck
his first wife from Mercer County. The family is German from Pennsylvania, but
I am not certain how they fit in. He was born in Pennsylvania October 2, 1861
and will die here October 2, 1939. He married Rosetta back in Mercer County
December 14, 1887. She was born here in Ohio in 1863 and will die here in 1948.

and died May 17, 1939. She was a daughter of Solomon Prince and Sarah Brown.
They had eleven children. He died June 22, 1956 just short of his 100th
birthday. He was the oldest licensed driver in the state of Ohio and still had

Married to Lafayette Putnam back in St. Louis in the 1860s through 1880s. In
1900 she was here with her son William, who has also died recently. She will be
here in an old age home in 1920 and die there December 6, 1962 at age 94.

County Virginia. He was born January 25, 1863. He married Mary Florence Miller
September 1, 1895 in New Vienna, Ohio. Mary was born September 16, 1875 and
died in Cincinnati November 6, 1961. John died there in July 1928.

died in 1893 in Illinois. He was with his widowed mother in Chicago in 1900.
They are in Pasadena California in 1920 and 1930. His mother is there in 1920
with his brother Burleigh at age 74, and still there in 1930 at age 84.

listed is Etta or Ella Eldert 23 MI NY NY. They will get married over in Essex County Ontario
Canada on June 15, 1901. They will then go to Detroit and be there in 1920 and
1930 and probably in 1910 but I can’t find them then.

Clyde’s dad John’s brother. The Julia listed here as mother
in law is George’s widow. Julia will die here November 10, 1911. The son
John E. is married here in 1920. By 1920 Clyde, Mildred and the rest are in
Johnston, Carter County Missouri. Clyde will die there July 4, 1921.

in 1870 living with Hiram Putman and Mary Ann Hobbs in Stark County and there
in 1880 at age 16. I would guess this is him as I can’t find anyone else that could
fit. German family out of Pennsylvania. This family is in Lawrence in 1920, and
I guess the following listing is a dual listing of sorts. Probably given by a
neighbor or something

Isaac's son was born here, the
family is German from Pennsylvania. Hugh is 53 OH, Helen (Ellen Esther Neiford) 48 OH, Irma 17 OH and George 13 OH. He has a
grandson, Eugene Brown recently born with him. Also there is his mother Sophia
Mihm Putman 76 NY. Hugh is a son of Isaac and Sophia Putman. He was born
January 22, 1855. He married Ellen Esther Neiford on
December 2, 1875. She was born in Ohio April 4, 1858. They were in Dublin,
Mercer County most of their lives. Ellen died August 14, 1916 in Van Wert. In
1920, Hugh is living with his son George in Ohio City, Van Wert County and
Esther appears to have died. They are there still in 1930 and Hugh is 75 then.
Hugh died back in Rockford, Mercer County September 21, 1951 age 96. Both are
buried in Ridge Cemetery, Van Wert County.

is now 48 OH, Rosetta Bowers 46 OH, Orvie (Orville ?) 21 OH, Ocie 19 OH and Otie 17 OH. The last two are daughters. I told you back in
1900 they either had odd names or the census taker couldn't spell. As of now,
vote for the weird name bit. Ruel is a son of Emanuel Putman and Elizabeth
Roebuck his first wife from Mercer County. The family is German from
Pennsylvania, but I am not certain how they fit in. He was born in Pennsylvania
October 2, 1861 and will die here October 2, 1939. He married Rosetta back in
Mercer County December 14, 1887. She was born here in Ohio in 1863 and will die
here in 1948.

wife Mary has died, and he is now widowed. He is 46 OH, Ethel M. 23 OH, Mabel

Scott and was born here. He was born January 2, 1963 and will die in Van Wert
October 13, 1929 He was here in 1870 & 1880 and then married in Mercer County
in 1900. Big problem is I can’t figure who Joseph was.

Robinson is listed as the ‘widow’ of Israel Pitt Putnam. She is 70 OH, Anna L.
50 IL, Orlando M. 52 IA, and Jessie F. 44 OH. But, her husband Israel has been
in Oregon since the late 1800s and is still there now. Orlando has been there
as well, and he and Jessie will be there in 1920 and living with Israel who
will be 86 at the time. Israel will die September 24, 1924 and be brought back
here for burial. Fidelia will die here December 1, 1915. The daughter Ann Eliza
will never marry and be here till she dies September 3, 1937.

is 21 CT and a niece of Nellie Hale. She will be here in 1920 as well. . Took a
while to figure her. Peter Radcliff Putnam (Eben #
3248) and Emily Mixer from Marietta, Ohio somehow came out to Connecticut in
the 1860s or he died and Emily whose folks were from Connecticut came out with
two of their kids, Abbott and Israel, both born in Ohio and were in Winchester,
Litchfield County in 1870 and 1880 with their mother Emily who had by then
married George White from Connecticut.

is 37 WV (OH other years) and listed with Converse Flanders as a 'C', cousin
probably. She was here with him as a niece in 1900 and in 1880 was listed as a
granddaughter of James Flanders. She is the daughter of George Washington
Putnam (3206), a son of Lewis John Pope Putnam. Her mother is Elvira Flanders.
He dad was in Wood County West Virginia when she was born March 12, 1873.
He
is a son of Israel Pitt Putnam and a great-great grandson of General Izzy. He
is now 43 OH (born right here), Rose E. Bauer 45 OH and Mildred 20 OH. Rollo
was born here January 6, 1867 and will die here October 6, 1932. Rose was born
February 17, 1865 and will be here till she dies December 23, 1945. He is the
Chief of Police here in Marietta.
