OKLAHOMA 1940 CENSUS
The writing and transcribing
here wasn’t great in 1930 and now worse in 1940 there are about two dozen
families listed at Putman, but are Pitman, Pulman and
others. Another thing is there are well over 30-40 families listed now in 1940
that were here in 1920 and the census people did not think they were worthy of
being included in the 1930. Or maybe they were just unwilling to bribe the
takers. Of all the 50 states census reports, Oklahoma is the absolute worst I
have encountered. Handwriting is illegible.
