it was granted statehood in 1959 and became the 49th State.
He is
29 IL IL IL and lists
Montesano Washington as his home. He is up here as a musician with a couple of
other ones. I think he is a son of Jeremiah Putman and Catherine Baird from
Brown County Illinois. His folks are in Montesano right now. In 1880 he was
listed as Archie but it was probably Artie. Southern Putman family.
She is
47 CAN ENG ENG and widowed. Josephine Charters was
married to Alfred B. Putnam in Bountiful, Utah in 1880. She and Leona were in
Yale and Cariboo County British Columbia Canada in 1901. She lives with her
married daughter Leona Frances Sullivan 27 UT CT CAN and her husband John T.
Sullivan 33 MO MO IRE. She will be in Oakland,
California with her brother Edward Charter in 1920 and there in 1930 at age 70
CAN.
He is
67 NY NY NY and boarding.
The occupation looks like barrister. Looks to be the son of Wilson Putman and
Elizabeth Cooper from Amsterdam New York. He was listed as Ira 7 NY there in
1850. Dutch family from Montgomery County New York.
He is
32 CA CAN CA single and boarding. He runs a store here. Rand Putnam checked

Patsy Campbell in Alameda December 17, 1911 as a pre-Christmas gift to each
other. They will stick it out for a couple of years and then he’ll marry Vera
Strange and be there with her in 1930, 1940 and forever. Mason was born August
18, 1879 and will die in La Jolla, San Diego County on July 12, 1972. Vera was
born August 28, 1879 and will also die in San Diego County January 9, 1975.
Both are into their 90s by then, not bad!
No age
given and the entry states he is in a camp 75 miles away. Big help here.
There
were no Putnams or Putmans listed.

BERTHA PUTMAN Anchorage City
She is
60 RUSSIA and divorced. She is in the Alaska Railroad Hospital. She was in
Russia in 1935 so no ideas on her husband at all. Probably came over for the
Iditarod Dog Race in March and decided to ’get legal’ by marrying then divorced
and hang around. Hmmm. Maybe.

MILLICENT
PUTNAM Anchorage City
She
is listed 22 and her husband Albert P. 28. They have a boarding house. Because
of this Millicent being listed as ‘Head’, and the births listed as US, just not
sure. But I really think he is Albert Price Putnam a son of Christopher Lee
Putnam and Mary Etta Geer from Great Falls, Montana. Being so far north, Montana
is just walking distance away from Alaska. That Albert was born July 14,
1921 and will die in Kalispell, Montana in July 1984. So
the age 28 in 1950 is perfect. This is the Quaker family out of Guilford County
North Carolina. But, just a coin toss.
