He is a blacksmith, 40 ENG, Christina 35 ENG, Mary 14 ENG, Jesse a daughter 12 ENG, Peter 8 PA, John 3 PA and Lewis 9/12 PA.
NANCY PUTNAM Pittsburgh, Allegheny County
She is 36 IRE (County Antrim), John 9 PA, Willie 7 PA, Elijah 4 PA. Also there is her dad, John Moffat 60 also from County Antrim in Northern Ireland. She is the ex-wife of John Putnam of Birmingham, Allegheny County. In 1870 she was listed as 26 ENG, but must be the same gal. John is listed next, so looks like a divorce to me.
He is a mould maker 34 ENG ENG ENG and is in a boarding house. In 1870 he was married to the above Nancy.
He is a doctor 31 CAN CAN CAN, his wife Emma Kate Hayes is 31 NY NY NY. He is number 2546, a son of Thomas Putnam (1144) and Mary Harris of Putnam, Ontario. They will be in North Adams, Mass. by the 1900 census.
LUMAN PUTNAM, JR. Burlington, Bradford County
He is obviously a son of Luman Putnam from Massachusetts. Luman is 42 PA MA MA, Alice Morley, his wife, is 32 PA and John G. (Griffin) 2 PA.
ERASTUS PUTNAM Canton Township, Bradford County
He is a son of Henry Putnam and Mary Saxton. He is 52 NY, Marietta Roberts is 46 PA, Julius 15 PA, Lillie 13 PA, Bessie 11 PA, William 7 PA. Marietta's sister Mary Jane Roberts 48 PA is living with them.
GRACE PUTNAM Granville, Bradford County
She is 10 PA and a niece of Loren and Sophia Leonard. She is a daughter of Alfred and Matilda Putnam from here in town. She was home in 1870 at age 9 months. Her mother has died, and her dad is back home with his father Isaac. Her mother must have been related to one of these folks here.
HARVEY PUTMAN Granville Township, Bradford County
He is Luman and Jerusha’s son. He is 39 PA MA MA, Elizabeth Gilman his wife 33 NY, Albert A. 12 PA, Eliza 11 PA, Ruby 7 PA and Harry 2 2/12 PA. They were all living here with his folks in 1870. They have another son Azor who is now living with and being raised by his sister Eliza Putnam Rockwell and her husband Azor nearby in Troy. Harvey will die here in 1892, Elizabeth in 1912.
John’s son has been here almost forever. He is now 72 MA MA MA, Abigail Taylor 74 PA NY CT, Alfred 45 PA, and two grandchildren Minnie 13 PA and Herbie 17 PA. The kids belong to Alfred, his wife Matilda Saxton died back in the 1860s.
He is 23 PA PA PA, and a laborer on the Fuller farm. He is a son of Philander and Mary Putnam here in town. He was home with them in 1870.
He is now 78 MA NY CT, and has a new wife Amy (a widow too, Susannah Amy Stockwell Brigham) 70 NY MA CT. Been here forever. His first wife Jerusha Bailey died here in 1874.
MILTON PUTNAM Granville Township, Bradford County
He is 34 PA (born here), Delana 24 PA and Silas L. 3 PA. He is a son of Isaac and Abigail Putnam.
He is now 48 PA, Mary C. Spencer 45 PA, Merton 21 PA, Scott 18 PA, Rosalia 15 PA, Mellon 12 PA. He was here in 1860 and is the son of Henry and Mary Saxton.
He is now 40 PA MA PA, Permelia Bailey 37 PA MA PA, Leon E. 12 PA. He is a son of Isaac and Abigail, and was born right here.
He is 26 PA PA PA and works on Azor Rockwell’s farm. He is Philander and Mary Putnam’s son from Granville. The rest of the listing is Azor Rockwell 43 PA, Eliza 46 PA, Jamie 17 PA, Azor R. 5 PA. Eliza is Eliza Putnam a daughter of Lyman or Luman Putnam and Jerusha Bailey from here. In 1900 the son Azor R. is listed here as Azor R. Putman 25 PA. He is a son of Edward’s brother Harvey who is still in Granville. He and Eliza are going to adopt and raise him.
He is 36 PA MA CT, a clerk and boarding. He was single in Granville in 1870.
HARVEY D. (DAVID) PUTNAM Butler, Butler County
He is 41 NY NY NY, Lucelia or Lucinda Davison 38 MA, Ella D. 15 PA, Maud L. 9 PA and Emma L. 5 PA. He is Harvey David Truman Putnam a son of Freeman Putnam and Esther Way, and was at home in Luzerne County, PA in the 1850. Lucinda and her daughter Emma will be in Chautauqua County, NY in 1900. Harvey seems to have passed on by then according to a tree I found. But … there is a Harvey D. Putnam in Kingman County Kansas in 1900 at age 58 NY and in Stillwater Township Payne County Oklahoma in 1920 at age 78 NY. I think maybe he and Lucy split up and he headed West and she back to the East. Big problem I can’t find the Oklahoma Census for him in 1920. So, Hmmmm.
GEORGE W. (WASHINGTON) PUTNAM Fairview, Butler County
He is 40 PA ENG NS, Harriet Caldwell Stuart, his wife, 31 PA, Lula 13 PA, Effie 11 PA, Willie 7 PA. He is a son of Moses Putnam and Mary Beaton from Nova Scotia, and was born in Philadelphia. They will be in Washington County, Maryland in 1900, and Harriet will be widowed there by 1920.
EUGENE PUTNAM Clearfield County
He is 40 VA, Mary 31 PA, Jennie 10 PA and Elmer 5 PA. They will be in Potter County in 1900.
He is a lumber jobber 38 PA, his wife Jennie Moore is 34 PA and they have Ada Pearl 5 PA, Jay Weir 2 and Raymond Leslie 1 PA. He is a son of Cornelius and Cinderella from Tioga County. He was home in 1850. The family originally is from N. Y.
DEWITT PUTMAN Flemington, Clinton County
He is 29 NY, Mary E. Riggle 18 PA and Lizzie 3 PA. I wonder if he moved here on purpose, as his middle name is Clinton like the county (and like the famous New York fella). He is a son of James Putman and Julia Mellon (I think the same Mellon family that now owns most of Pittsburgh) from over in Tioga County. He was born in Steuben County, New York on April 3, 1849 and will die here in Flemington on September 16, 1918. His wife is Mary Elizabeth Riggle.
He is 27 PA NY VT. He lives with his grandmother Betsy Dix 87 MA MA MA. His dad, John Wilson Putnam, was here in 1850 and married to Jerusha Dix. I can’t find any of them in 1860 or 1870. He is here in 1900, 1910 and 1920. His death certificate says he died in Sagerstown, Crawford County September 16, 1927.
Here in 1870, he is now 58 PA CT PA, Sarah E. Kerr, his second wife, 45 PA PA PA, Ella J. 24 PA, Laura 17 PA, Clarence 12 PA. John K. Marshall 21 PA, a stepson from Sarah’s first marriage, is still here with them.
ALFRED PUTNAM Rome Township, Crawford County
He is Leonard's son and has been here a while now. He is 52 NY, Philena Beardsley, his second wife, is 37 PA, Rutland (Ransom in 1870) 13 PA, Bertie a daughter 11 PA, Lucius 7 PA, Walter 5 PA and Millie 2 PA. A dual listing, guess he is moving to Steuben here in Crawford County.
RANSOM PUTNAM Rome Township, Crawford County
Leonard's son is 53 NY NY NY, Nancy Philips his second wife is 44 PA, Minnie 12 PA, Mertie 11 PA, Alta 7 PA and Clara 3 PA. Also there is Ransom's mother Sallie 73 NY. She obviously remarried after Leonard died in the 1850s as her name is now Sallie Platt and is widowed for the second time. Ransom will die here on March 1, 1896.
SIDNEY PUTNAM Rome Township, Crawford County
He is a son of Ransom Putnam and his first wife Fidelia Hall and was born here. He is now 29 PA, Mary Adelia Weld his wife 23 PA and Jay 5 PA.
He is 52 NY NY NY, Philena Beardsley, his second wife, 31 PA, Rutland (Ransom) 13 PA, Bertie a daughter 11 PA, Lucias a son 7 PA, Walter 5 PA and Millie 2 PA. Leonard’s son has been here a while. He was in Rome Township in 1870 though. Alfred and Philena will both still be here in 1900.
He is 21 PA NY PA and works in a mill. He is Albert Putnam, a son of George and Emily Putnam. He was home with them in Athens, Crawford County in 1860. The family wasn’t listed in 1870, and I can’t find them now either here or in New York.
JOHN PUTNAM Steuben, Crawford County
Lewis and Mary Ann's son. He is now 41 NY NY NY, Fidelia 39 PA, Milo 12 PA and Loran (Lora Wayne) a son 2 PA.
He is 48 PA VT PA. Still here are his brother James 34 PA and sister Cynthia 46 PA. These folks are all kids of Phineas and Jane Putnam. They live together on the old family farm and will continue to do so and be here together in 1900. None of these three ever married.
He is 50 PA VT PA, Elizabeth Whiting 52 NY MA MA, Bessie 20 PA and Zenophan 12 PA. He is a son of Phineas Putnam and was born here. He will be here until he dies June 20, 1896.
He is 61 PA VT PA, Elizabeth (Sarah Elizabeth Fetterman) 48 PA PA PA, Charles 23 PA, Ella 21 PA, Wilbur 17 PA, and Edgar 13 PA. Been here a bit now, one of Phineas and Jane's kids.
ALICE PUTNAM Crawford, Erie County
She is 23 PA PA NY and is a housekeeper for a Hasbrouck family. Looks like Miles daughter from just over the line in Susquehanna County.
VALENTINE PUTNAM Corry, Erie County
Edson's son has moved over from Warren County. He is 51 NY, Martha Macress 50 VT, Alice 22 NY, Minnie M. 17 PA, Grant 11 PA and Willie W. 9 NY. Val has bounced back and forth across the border a few times it looks like.
William Leander is now 60 NY -- --, Alice 57 NY NY NY, Alice 28 PA, Curtin 17 PA.
B. H. (BURTON HILL) PUTNAM North East Township, Erie County
He is 30 NY, Flora DeAnn Bowers 27 NY, Cleo E. 3 PA and George W. 2 PA. Burton is a physician. He is a son of George Washington Putnam and Alpha Ann Van Vliet of Westfield, Chautauqua County, New York. He was born there September 12, 1849, and will die here February 8, 1928. His father George was born in Manchester, Bennington County, Vermont. This line goes back Burton > George > Jacob (1882) > Jacob (768) > Jacob > Nathaniel > Benjamin > Nathaniel > John.
Joanna Russell is the widow of Joseph Putnam who died here in 1867. She is now 79 NY and has her granddaughter Ella 15 PA with her. Ella may belong to her son Clark, hard to tell as none of her kids had a daughter age 5 in 1870.
M. C. (MELVIN CLARK) PUTNAM North East Township, Erie County
Joseph's son has been here with his folks since the 1850s. He is 54 PA NY NY, Mary 40 PA, Mary E. 19 PA, Jennie V. 16 PA, Edward or Edwin 11 PA and Grace 4 PA. They will be here in 1900.
He is a railroad agent, 58 VT VT VT, Nancy C. 57 VT VT VT. Been here since the 1850s.
He is 51 VT VT VT, Jane his wife 49 PA IRE PA, Stella 15 PA, and Nellie 10 PA. He is a son of William and Philena. They were here in 1870 too.
He is a lawyer, 57 WV PA PA, Mary A. 48 PA ENG ENG, Thomas R. 23 PA, John 21 PA, Lida 19 PA, James 17 PA, Alex 15 PA, Lizzie 12 PA, Andrew 7 PA. Also listed as a daughter in law is Dora Putman 17 PA. He is actually a a Purman, son of Thomas Russell Purman who is buried right here in Waynesburg and there is a photo of the stone with PURMAN right on it. I am leaving him here in case someone else finds him and wonders.
He is 34 PA PA PA a day laborer and boarding, his wife Alice is 31 PA PA PA. Possibly John and Maria’s son from Tioga County, though the age would be 39-40 now.
He is 59 NH NH NH, Eliza Mc. Reynolds his wife 61 PA PA PA, Emma B. 28 PA. They have been here forever. Albert will die in 1896, Elizabeth in 1881. By 1900, Emma will be with her sister Mary McCarthy.
A. B. (ALBERT BRONSON) PUTNAM Bradford, McKean County
He is 33 OH, Cora (Dunn) 26 NY, Norman 4 PA and Julia 1 OH. He is a Rector at Saint John's in Franklin, PA. He is a son of Norman W. Putnam of Cornish, New Hampshire. He was born in College Township, Knox County Ohio on March 17, 1848. By 1900, he will be in Ohio and will become Rector of the Emanuel Church in Cleveland. Cora will die shortly, and Albert will marry Mary Adelia Jarvis in Massillon, Ohio in 1889.
ATWOOD PUTMAN McKean County
He is 59 ME, Louisa 42 GER, Wilhamina 6 PA, Elizabeth 4 PA and Atwood 2 PA. Also there is his brother Cyrus Putman 62 ME. The family wasn't indexed in 1900, but in 1910 Louisa will still be here and living with her son Atwood junior. He is Ivy Atwood Putnam, a son of Samuel Putnam and his second wife Elizabeth Cobb of Rumford, Oxford County, Maine. He was born there October 12, 1820. In 1860, he was in Mexico, Oxford County, Maine, and married to an Emily and at the time they had three children: Mary, Gustavus, and Emily. Now, in 1880, Emily and Gus are still back in Mexico, Oxford County. Got a divorce it would seem. Looks as if he moved here in the early 1870s and started fresh. His brother Cyrus never married.
He is a telegraph operator, 23 PA and boarding. He looks like a son of George and Rebecca. They were here in 1860, the whole county got overlooked in 1870, so not positive.
EDWIN PUTNAM Otto, McKean County
He is Alfred's son from Crawford County and will be back there by the 1900 census. He is presently 30 PA PA NY, Mary E. 27 PA, Adelia 8 PA, Harry O. 6 PA and Ross L. 1 PA.
He is 22 PA NY ME and a laborer who is boarding. He would be Ned Putnam, son of George and Rebecca Rider. They were here in 1860, and next door in Warren County in 1870. He was home in both cases.
He is 40 NY IRE NY, Julia K. 28 NJ, Julia K. 6 PA, Anna M. 5 PA, Francis C. 1 PA. There are several boarders. He is also listed in Troy New York now with Anna and Frances, but a different wife. Think it the same guy. He is a son of Elijah Putnam and Polly Dayan from Lyme, Jefferson County NY. He and the daughter Anna will be in Hampden County, Massachusetts in 1910. Dutch family.
FRANK M. PUTMAN Sunbury West Ward, Northumberland County
He is 33 NY MA NY, Mary E. Bright, his wife, 24 PA, Burtram A. (Bertrand in 1900) 4 PA and Frank junior 1 PA. He looks to be the son of Orson and Lucy Putnam as shown in 1860 in Syracuse, New York.
He is 38 WI WI WI, a traveling drug salesman and boarding. Hope the drugs are legit. He is Amos Whitney Putnam, son of Aaron Putnam and Elvira Smith of Waukesha County, Wisconsin. And no, his folks were born in Vermont, no one was born in Wisconsin that early.
She is 64 VT VT VT, and lives with her daughter Cleora Bisbee 40 VT VT VT and her husband Malvin Bisbee 44 MA MA MA. Caroline Hosmer is now the widow of Robert Putnam. They were both here with their daughter in 1870, New Jersey before that and then Chester, Vermont where they all came from in the first place.
He is now retired and is only 55 MA MA MA. Been here a while and never married.
He is 56 ME ME ME a seaman on a boat. He just here on his ship on a trip, and is also listed back home in Searsport, Maine with Sarah and his family. He is a son of Silas Putnam and Mary Ann Mitchell from Searsport, Waldo County, Maine.
LOTT PUTNAM Philadelphia, Philadelphia County
He is a black man, 56 DE, Elle 40 PA, Lott jr. 7 PA and Joseph 4 PA. He is a brick maker.
He is a retired merchant 63 MA MA MA, Jennie S. 54 MA MA MA. Samuel Patrick Putnam is a son of Samuel Putnam (1758, son of Jacob Putnam 740) and Mary Patrick from New Salem, Massachusetts. He and Jennie were married in 1852 and were in Columbiana County Ohio in 1870. They are in Wayne County New York in the 1900 census.
HENRY PUTMAN Potter County
He is 26 PA, C.M., his wife, 18 PA and William 9 PA. He will be here in 1900 with a new wife, May, only 23 at that time. He should be a son of William and Harriet Putman from Elk Township Tioga County. Towns are very close. Dutch folks.
He is 51 NY NY NY, Elizabeth 46 NY NY NY, Hattie 12 NJ.
He is 46 NY PA PA, Elizabeth 39 PA PA PA, Theodora 13 PA. Beats me, never saw him before.
GRANT PUTMAN Centerville, Somerset County
He is 8 PA and a grandson of Peter and Mary Jile or Pile.
PETER PUTMAN Milford Township, Somerset County
He is Peter and Elizabeth's kid, born here and will be here all his life, German folks. He is now 49 PA, Susan Catherine Walters his wife is 45 PA, David 23 PA, Maggie E. 21 PA, Mabel 17 PA, Georgiana 14, Darlie 12 PA and Eva 3 PA.
She is 22 PA PA PA a servant to a Miller family. Mary Ann is a daughter of John Putman here in town.
He is now 53 PA PA PA, his second wife Ann Bowman is 38 PA, Louisa 17 PA, Esther 13 PA, William 8 PA and Charles 6 PA. He’s a son of George and Julia, and was born here.
Juliana Barnes is the widow of William Putman as she was in 1870. She is now 48 PA and lives with her daughter Mary Ann King 26 PA and her husband Smith King.
He is 27 PA PA PA, Catherine 29 PA and Malissa 6 PA. He is a son of William Putman and Julia Ann Barnes. German family. He works on the railroad.
Eva Baron is now the widow of David Putman from here. She is now 78 PA A PA, Rosanna 48 PA, Phebe 46 PA. German family.
JOHN PUTMAN Somerset County
He is 53 PA, Ann F. (Ann Felicia Bowman) 38 PA, Louisa 17 PA, Esther 13 PA, William 8 PA and Charles 6 PA. He is George's son. Ann is his second wife. His first wife was Maria Kooser. In the last ten years, it seems he has lost two daughters, Elnora who would be 15 and Fanny who would be 11. With Maria also missing, I would guess that there was a divorce here, and the kids are with her someplace.
She is a dressmaker and lives in a hotel. She is 25 NY NY NY
He is now 66 NY NY NY and lives with his daughter Eliza Butler 35 PA, her husband William H. Butler 44 PA and their kids. He was here married in 1860, then kinda overlooked in 1870. Not exactly sure when Cinderella died.
He is a music teacher 26 PA PA PA and is boarding.
JER. H. (JEROME HENRY) PUTMAN Blossburg, Tioga County
He is a son of Jerome and Harriet and has been here since the 1840s. He is now 42 NY, Elizabeth 40 PA, William 19 PA, Abraham 16 PA, Ida 12 PA, Grace 10 PA, Jessie 8 PA and Flora 5 PA.
Jerome Senior’s widow, Harriet Kiff, is now 70 NY NY NY and lives with her daughter Harriet Mills 49 NY and her husband Lewis Mills and their family.
THOMAS B. (BURNSIDE) PUTNAM Covington, Tioga County
He is 50 PA, Alsina Connelly 47 NY, Martha H. 9 PA. He was born here, a son of Thomas and Zilpha. He married Alsina December 8, 1852. She will die here in 1884 and he will marry Anna Coleman Snyder November 7, 1885.
He is a farmer 45 NY NY NY, Cinderella 39 PA NY NY, Anna 12 PA. His mother Maria 80 NY is now living with them.
CHESTER PUTNAM Delmar Township, Tioga County
He is 27 PA PA PA, Sarah Ann Johnson 23 PA PA PA, Fred 2 PA. He is a son of John Putman and Emeline Short from Montgomery County, NY. Dutch family. He was born right here.
DEROY PUTMAN Delmar Township, Tioga County
He is listed here as Deroy and the same way in 1870 and 1900, but was listed Leroy in 1860. Maybe it is actually Deroy. At any rate, he is a son of John and Emeline Putman (Dutch family from Montgomery County, NY) and was born here in town. He is now 30 PA PA PA, Emma 25 NY, Ella 4 PA, John 2 PA and a new born unnamed daughter 2 months old.
GEORGE M. PUTNAM Delmar Township, Tioga County
He is now 31 PA PA PA, Alice A. 25 PA, Minnie E. 2 PA, Annie E. 1 PA and twins Myron and Mina 2/12 PA. He is also listed shortly in Elk Township. He is a son of John and Emeline Putman from here. He has a duplicate listing coming up.
He is now 61 NY NY NY, Emeline Short, his wife, 52 PA NY NY, Eliza 22 PA. Also here is Leroy Kelbourne 34 PA listed as a son in law. I assume he is Eliza’s husband.
He is 31 PA PA PA and a farmhand. His wife Alice A. Blackwell is 25 PA and they have Minnie E. 2 PA, Annie E. 1 PA and twins Myron and Mina 2/12 PA. He is a son of John and Emeline Putman from here. Dutch.
ELISHA PUTMAN Elkland, Tioga County
He is 29 NY, Mary Ann 29 PA, Sarah N. 6 PA, Della M. 4 PA and A. G. a son 10/12 PA. He is a son of George Alonzo Putnam from Woodhull, Steuben County, NY. Mary and the kids will be in Steuben County, NY in 1900 and 1910 and then suddenly Elisha himself appears in 1920 in Steuben County with his widowed mother Mary Elizabeth. I have no clue where he was between now and 1920 though.
JAMES W. PUTNAM Knoxville, Tioga County
He is 56 NY, Julia Ann Mellon 50 NY, J. Frank 12 NY, Walter H. 10 NY. Sarah Mellon 81 NY, Julia's mommy, is with them.
J. (JAMES) H. PUTNAM Lawrenceville, Tioga County
He is 29 NY NY NY, Mary Emma Taylor 23 PA, James H. 7/12 PA. He is a retail grocer. They are living with her mother M. A. Taylor. He is a son of Elijah Putnam and Harriet Hotchkiss from Wayne, Steuben County New York. Dutch folks from New York then New Jersey. They are here in 1900 and later.
JOHN M. PUTNAM Mansfield, Tioga County
He is 25 CAN NY NY, Alpha M. Allen 22 PA, Alpha L. 7 PA and Allen C. 1/12 PA. He is a son of Cornelius and Cinderella Putman of Tioga County PA. Dutch. In 1900 they are in Buffalo, New York. Alpha will be widowed there in 1910 and the two daughters are with her then. Alpha is a daughter of James Zimri Allen and Lucinda Stevens and was born in Pennsylvania in September 1858 and will die November 16, 1917.
He is a lumberman 33 PA PA PA, Mary his wife is 30 PA NY NY. He is a son of John and Maria Putman, and was back in Delmar and then in Bloss Township single in 1870. Dutch.
She is 28 PA PA PA and a domestic with a Bowen family.
She is 4 NY NY NY, and a niece of Lorenzo Brimmer. Rand figured she is the daughter of Thomas Putnam and Roxanna Brimmer from Tyrone, Schuyler County New York.
EMMET PUTNAM Columbus, Warren County
Emmet Macress is 29 PA PA VT, Lucina Wealthy Pierce is 32 PA and Cora 1 1/2 PA. He is a son of Valentine.
He is a blacksmith and living with his boss, Oliver Loveland. He is 24 PA PA PA. He is a son of Avanda Putnam from Farmington.
He is 43 NY NY NY, a servant with a Sherman family. He is a son of the following Lewis and Mary Ann Putnam. He was shown at home in Crawford County in 1850 on.
He has moved over from Steuben, Crawford County where he has been for ages. He is now 70 NY, Mary Ann Russell 66 PA and Spencer 19 PA. Spencer is listed as a son, but in prior reports they had a Samuel about a year older, so not positive. Spencer will be in McKean County, married, in 1900, and in New York State after that.
WILLIAM PUTNAM Eldred, Warren County
He is 24 PA, Polly Loretta Emerson 23 PA and Jennie 1 PA. He is a son of Alford and his first wife Sarah. He was shown at home in 1870 in Rome, Crawford County. His folks have moved to Steuben in Crawford County and he moved here at the same time.
WEBSTER PUTNAM Warren County

As I told you earlier, he is an 'illegitimate' son of Peter Putman and Louise Griffin. He was raised by relatives of Louise back in Somerset County where he was born. He must have come out here possibly to be near his uncle Joseph. At any rate, he is 26 PA, Eliza Dunnmeyer 22 PA, Gertie J. 4 PA, Charles E. 2 PA and Robert N. 2/12 PA.
Elizabeth Brunner is now the widow of Joseph Putman. They were all here in 1870. She is now 69 PA PA PA and lives with her daughter Harriet Weimer 39 PA, her husband William Weimer 44 PA and their kids. They are in Somerset County by 1900.German family from Somerset County.

Horace Sr. was from Vermont, a son of John Putnam and Sarah Heath. He will be widowed and back in Jefferson, Ohio by 1910. Horace was born July 10, 1855 and will die July 28, 1942 in Ohio.
ARTHUR PUTMAN Pittsburgh, Allegheny County
He is 23 PA Jan 1877 rooming with Mary Petgen. In 1880, in Pittsburgh, there were two possibles. John age 3 PA son of Charles and Christina Putnam both from England, and an Elijah 4 PA son of John and Nancy Putnam, again both from England (Nancy actually from Northern Ireland). If Arthur was a middle or even first name, one of these might be him. If Arthur is his only name, we are in trouble here as there were no Arthurs in the state in 1880.

She is 40 PA May 1860 enumerated with her father Harry F. Boren. She was married to Marcellus Putnam in Richmond, Henrico County Virginia in 1880. He must have died as she lists herself as widowed in the next census. In 1910 she shows that she has a son John Carden Putnam who would be 19 now, but I don’t see listed here but is with her in 1910 through 1930. She is here in Pittsburgh through the 1930 census. Don’t find either in the 1940.

He is a son of John B. and Mary Ann Putman from Callahan County, Texas. The family was originally from Georgia. His dad was a son of Daniel and Nancy Putman from Cherokee County, Georgia.

He is listed as Azor Putman 25 PA Mar 1875 living with Azor and Eliza Rockwell. In 1880, Edward Putnam, Philander’s son, was here with Azor Rockwell who married Ed’s sister Eliza Putnam. This Azor was 5 PA then but was listed as a Rockwell not Putnam. Azor is actually a son of Edward’s brother Harvey who died in 1892. Edward has adopted and raised him. Azor will be here the rest of his life.

Blanche will remarry Barney Richardson and be here in 1910. According to a later obit, he will marry Emma Connors and have a son John James in Union City, Erie County Pennsylvania in 1911 and then he will be widowed with John in Chautauqua County New York in 1920. He was born January 17, 1878 in Steuben, Pennsylvania and will die in Louisiana, Arkansas July 3, 1946.

His brothers Fred and William are here as well in Bradford, but I have no clue to their folks other than their mother was Della Crawford from New York State. She will be here in 1910 and this family will be in Detroit in 1920 and 1930. There is a death certificate in Detroit for their daughter Pearl. She was born June 24, 1896 and will die of typhoid fever September 25, 1914. She was a clerk and gave her parents as Charles E. Putnam and Gertrude James. Wish they asked for grandparents names But did get Gertie’s name. Now if Della Crawford was the mom then take a look at the 1880 New York Census for Nelson Henry Putnam in Leicester, Livingston County. His wife was named Delphine, and had a son Frederick 10, son Charles E. 4 and a son William 2. William’s age off now or then but rest fits nicely. Nelson’s folks were Henry and Harriett in Wyoming County NY in 1850 where he was born. Henry goes back to Henry and Nancy Putnam in Chenango County from 1820 on and in Wyoming County in 1850 as well. I can’t really get back any further than that.

They were in Crawford County before that, and that’s where he was born. He will be widowed in Jamestown, New York in 1910, and will have a new wife, Minnie, and be in Buffalo, New York in 1920 and 1930. The sons Clyde and Merle will be in Denver, Colorado by 1910.

He is the son of Theodore and Abigail of Warren Co. He is 25 PA May 1875, Mary Jane Patterson 22 PA Nov 1877, Howard D. 2 PA Mar 1898, Lloyd P. 1 PA Apr 1899. They will be back in Warren County soon and Mary Jane will be widowed there in 1910 and 1920. By 1930 she will remarry to Erhart Schwing and be in Warren till she dies in 1936.
She is 62 GER GER GER born Feb 1838 and widowed. At home is her son Atwood 22 PA Feb 1878, daughter Wilhemine Willson 26 PA Jun 1873 and son-in-law William J. Willson 31 NY Apr 1869 and their two kids. She is the second wife of Ivy Atwood from Rumford, Maine. They were all here in 1880. Ivy Atwood was a son of Samuel Putnam and his second wife Elizabeth Cobb of Rumford, Oxford County, Maine.
