but she is a daughter of John Morgan Putman and Delia Jane Martin and was here
with them in 1920 and 1930 and 1940 with her widowed mom. Her brother Paul is
listed below and brother Buford listed above.
PAUL PUTMAN
Tullahoma, Coffee County
He is 49 GA with a wife Charlotte 48 TN, and they
have 2 nieces with them; Betty Jane 13 TN and Nancy Mae 1 TN. The name is
spelled Puttman on the census and Ancestry has him as
a Pittman. But he is really Paul David Putman. He was here with his folks John
Morgan Putman and Delia Jane Martin in 1920, and then with his widowed mom here
in 1930 and 1940.

ANDREW
PUTNAM Davidson County
He is 25 TN, his wife Helen 22 TN
and they have twins Victoria and Michael 2 TN. Can’t find him earlier anywhere
on the planet, nor can Ancestry or Google. Gotta be a spelling mistake, and he
is not a Putnam or Putman.
ERNEST J. (JOHNSON) PUTMAN Davidson County

Robbins 34 TN and they have James 11 TN and Judy 9 TN. He is a yard fireman for

Santa had instructions to bring her down the chimney with him on Christmas
nights. It was snowing and raining on Christmas Night and Santa felt it was
better to wait a day and then drop her off at the hospital here in town. I got
this from a notebook Santa left at the local bar one night by mistake.
GEORGE
PUTNAM Davidson County
He is 33 TN and his new wife Alma
Christine Johnson is 33 TN and they have George Wade Putnam 2 TN.
George was in Summer in 1940 with a wife Lona it seems. Christine was married
to a Nolan guy and has her son Gary Nolan 8 TN with her as a stepson. George
would be the son of Alonzo Putman and Nettie Meadows from Nashville. His dad
died there in 1929. This is a line out of Rutherford County North Carolina. The
spelling of the name looks like Putnam to me, but is indexed as Patuem.
JAMES C. (CLEMMIE) PUTMAN Davidson County
This is going to be an interesting affair. Anyway,
he is 36 TN (no it is AL), his wife Flossie Phelps is 35 TN and they have
Juanita 12 TN and Craig 3 TN. The gap here is because he was in the Army
playing around in WWII. Also here is Flossie’s mother Lillie Phelps 67 TN and
her brother Erskin Phelps 45 TN. I searched 1930 and
1940 for a James C. Putman to no luck. I tried searching for Flossie back in
1940 as they had a daughter 2 then. BINGO. I found her but she was married to a
Clemmie guy born in Tennessee about 1914, and no luck. Since I knew Flossie’s
last name, I searched on Ancestry found her and got a WWII draft card for James
Clemmie Putman born in Huntsville, Alabama April 3, 1914. Wow. I looked in my Alabama 1930 census, and sure enough
he was in Athens, Limestone County Alabama with his widowed mother Mary Lee
Hill who had been married to William George Putman from Athens who was killed
in an accidental explosion while working on highway construction in 1929.
And he was listed as Clemmie 16 AL in
the 1930 like he was in 1940 and born right there and not in Tennessee.

an auto accident and died of a brain concussion. Louise was born in Williamson
County July 20, 1919 and will die here
in Nashville December 12, 1993. She was smart enough to have her seat belt on

herself in with a rope. She is a daughter of Sam and Hassie Young.
