1880. He had married Sarah Annie McKay back in Worcester, Massachusetts and she
died in Holden in 1854. Austin was in New York City in 1870 then here in 1880. Pauline
is Sophie Pauline Ruegger and she first married
Emanuel Weissmiller on 27 Oct 1870. Oscar Emmet Weissmiller was born 19 Aug 1873. She is here in 1900 through
1930. She’ll be here in 1930 at age 80 and Annie will still be here then too.

will be widowed in Chicago, Illinois in 1920 living with her son Hubert and his
wife Ella.

born July 25, 1902 and died Monday October 5, 1962. He married Catherine
Schreiner September 15, 1926 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Catherine was born in
Germany September 15, 1903 and died in Wausau Sunday September 29, 1996 at age
93. He was born as Putman but later changed his last name to Archie.

County Iowa though in 1900. Della’s family was there in 1900 too. That’s where
they met and married. They are kids of Fred and Della Putnam. Della is Indian
and a daughter of John Hamilton Putman. John’s wife Basheba
was a full blooded Indian. John Putman is Dutch from
New York State. Fred is a New Englander. They are in Shawano County in 1910,
which is a large Indian Territory.

Martha Brewer from Rutland, County, Vermont. They were in Richland County back
in 1860. He was married to Lillie in Dodge County in 1900. She will die and he
will marry Evelyn L. Ward in December 1918 here in Wisconsin. He and Evelyn
will be in Dewey County, South Dakota in 1920. Arthur will have his own family
there then. The son George will be in
the Army at Fort Dix in New Jersey in 1920. They are all in Hughes County South
Dakota in 1930.

Massachusetts and she died in Holden in 1854. Austin was in New York City in
1870 then here in 1880. Pauline is Sophie Pauline Ruegger
and she first married Emanuel Weissmiller on 27 Oct
1870. Oscar Emmet Weissmiller was born 19 Aug
1873. She is here in
1900 through 1930. She’ll be here in 1930 at age 80 and Annie will still be
here then too.

Earl 6 WI. The daughters are all married here by 1920. William and Ella are
here in 1920, and Ella is widowed by 1930 and living with her son Earl in
Rockford, Winnebago County Illinois by 1930.

1900. By 1920 they are in Winnebago County Illinois. He will die there in 1925.
Sarah Connett, Hiram Putman’s widow is now 74 OH and lives by
herself as she did in 1900 and 1905. Been here forever, married Hiram back in
Licking County Ohio before this whole gang moved up here.

a while and still works as a capitalist, now that he has retired from the Green
County Bank. He will die soon, and Clara will be here with her daughter in
1920 through 1940 at least.

there in 1905. They are in Boise Idaho in 1920 where he is also a manager of a
power company. And then in New York City in 1930.

sheet and it seems he was a son of George and Nancy’s daughter Lydia out of
wedlock I assume. Victor will enlist in the Army and be injured in WWI. He will
be in a government hospital in New Mexico and die there May 11, 1923 and be
buried back in Seymour. He was born here March 1, 1891. Dutch family.

2 WI all last name Wilson and listed as grandchildren. Ernest Wilson was her
son. Her son Stephen in the 1925 Iowa State Census states
his folks were Israel Putman and Lydia Armstrong. Pretty sure Israel was the
son of Pliney and Martha Putnam as shown in the 1857
census of Rice County Minnesota. He and his folks were from Pennsylvania and
Stephen was born in Minnesota.

don’t find him in 1900, but Gertrude is with her widowed mother Maria Kendall
in Green Lake County in 1900. Probably a divorce as in this entry he says this
is his first marriage. Guess doesn’t want Mildred to find out bad news.

died in 1904 and maybe this is his dad and the V is a W for George Ward and

married to the above Antone’s son John who died in
1919. Leona will marry George Plant in a couple of years and they and the kids

be in Washington DC in 1930. Parker and Edna will be separated or something
soon. He will be in Freeport, Illinois in 1930 living in the YMCA there. Edna

been married to Ephraim Putnam. They were in Chippewa County in 1910 and in
Price County in 1920. Clara Mandada Mapes married
Ephraim Putnam in Chippewa County January 25, 1883 and he died before 1896.
Ephraim was a son of Jonathan Putnam (1952) and Mary Stockwell
of Bradford, Orange County Vermont.

Wright is the second wife and widow of Prescott Putnam from here. She is still
living with her son from her first marriage Louis Scheuring.

daughter of John Johnson and Christina Rickelson and
was born April 26, 1874 and will die here in De Pere November 2, 1962. Leslie
will die here August 28, 1956. The family came out of Massachusetts right
before the Revolution. Leslie

Emanuel Weissmiller on 27 Oct 1870. Oscar Emmet Weissmiller was born 19 Aug 1873. She is here in 1900 through

Springfield, Missouri June 28, 1948 of meningitis. She was a cook and never

Wisconsin by 1860. Israel was at home in Richland County in 1880, and married
there in 1900. He married Vernetta Mae McBain there in 1893 and they were there
in 1900 and here in Merrill in 1910 and 1920. She was a daughter of James and
Mary McBain. I don’t know when she died, but was in the early 1920s as he

Thompson in Marathon County April 3, 1895. He died in 1917, and she married
Izzy in September 1923. I don’t have a death date/place for either. New England

descendant says he was born June 14, 1915. He was convicted of first degree murder and sent to the Rock County Jail on
December 1, 1939. He died November 29, 1959 in Green Bay. His death certificate
says his folks were George Nelson Putnam and Mary Joubert. His dad would be a
son of George and the Mary mentioned here in Milwaukee. In the 1880, they had a
son George age 2 then who would likely be his dad. That George is in Gladstone,
Delta County Michigan in 1900 and is married to Margaret Joubert. That’s the
only time I find them though. Arnold’s brothers Chester and George are nearby
in West Allis here in the County.

son of Jonas Golusha Putnam and a grandson of

Clara (Mapes) Putnam in 1907, but is a son of Henry Benjamin Hodges and Maria
Catrina Arpagus. He is listed with Clara in 1910 in
Anson, Chippewa County Wisconsin, and in 1920 in Lake, Price County Wisconsin.
He and Elsie are in Park Falls, Price County Wisconsin in 1940. He was born
February 15, 1907 in Bradley Lincoln County Wisconsin and adopted shortly after
that. He married Elsie August 17, 1925 and will die in Ashland Wisconsin
November 16, 1986. Elsie is a daughter of Fred and Lillian Andrus. She was born
in Bangor, La Crosse County Wisconsin March 20, 1907 and will die in Price
County Wisconsin December 17, 1973.

and they were in Windsor, Stutsman County North Dakota in 1920. He is a son of
Frank Harrison Putnam and Ida Langdon. Frank was a son of Harrison Putnam
(2790) and Permelia Lovering
from Bureau County Illinois. I never find his parents. He was born in Iowa in
1884 and in 1900 was living with his grandparents Ransom and Phoebe Landgon in Civil Bend, Union County South Dakota. He
married Ella in 1904 and they were in Sioux City, Iowa in 1910. They adopted
two kids around 1920. Severn Buster Mahar and Raymond Lee Mahar. The adopted
son Severn is here and the son Raymond will be married in Sioux City, Iowa in
1935 and in Rock Island City, Illinois in 1940. New England family.
She is
59 NY and divorced. Interesting the entry read S which was crossed out a D
added. At any rate she is a daughter of George and Nancy Putman from here. She
was at home here in 1900 and haven’t seen her since. I assume she married
someone and then got divorced and took back her maiden name. She is here in
1940 and will die here September 17, 1947. Dutch family out of Onondaga County
New York.

of Frank J. Putnam and Agnes Noteware from Chippewa
Falls where he was born May 22, 1898 and was there in 1900 and in Rusk County
since then. He will die here in Minneapolis December 6, 1976. In 1940 he is in
Minneapolis married to Gertrude who was born June 21, 1908 and will die June 6,
1971. Family came here from Vermont, decided it just wasn’t cold enough for
them back East.

sister Bertha Foster 56 WI is with them. He owns his farm and works it. He is a
son of John Day Putnam and Catherine Lovell, and was with them in St. Croix
County in 1860. William married Mattie L. Foster in River Falls, Wisconsin on
May 21, 1890. He was the city treasurer here in River Falls. He will die here
December 24, 1939 and Mattie is widowed here with Bertha in 1940.
LAFAYETTE PUTMAN Stevens Point, Portage County

54 NY widowed and has his son Leslie 12 WI with him. He was married to Mary
Henke and they were here in 1920, but the son Leslie wasn’t there with them
then and I can’t find him in 1920 anyplace. Lafayette George Putman is a son of
Lafayette Putman and Melissa Phillips. He was born in Scott, Sheboygan County,
Wisconsin September 8, 1875 and will die in Scott February 20, 1964.

County in 1910 and here in 1920 and his mother was still with him. Dutch family

is 9 WI, Charles 8 WI, Wayne 7 WI and Beverly 5 WI. They are listed as children
of Ward and Maggie Smith who are listed in their 20s. The above Nelson had a
son Nelson who is their dad. Nelson is presently in Fort Bayard, Grant County
New Mexico and is a patient but not in a hospital. In 1940, these kids are
listed as children of Acenith Putnam, a daughter of
Herbert and Caroline Smith.

from Waukesha County. He first appears in Waukesha County next to his folks in
1910 and calls himself Roy with a wife Lena from Wisconsin. In 1920 he was

owns a farm and is a son of Jesse Carlton Putnam from Vermont. Dan was born
right here, and has been married to Lillie Ryan since 1906.

WI. They have been married 8 years. He was here with his widowed and remarried
mother Carrie in 1900 and 1920. His dad was Albert Putman. The only
Albert that would have been the right age was Jacob Putman and
Mary Jane Marr’s
son from Waushara County as shown in 1880. That’s a Dutch Putman line
from New York State and undoubtedly why Steve’s name is Putman. Steve was born August 7, 1893
and will die here March 28, 1980. Elizabeth was born in 1891 and will die here
in December 1942.

Mentor, Clark County. They were there in 1920. Then he died in 1927 and their
Mother Clara Maude Bangle married Clyde Barr June 1, 1929. She is here at 49 WI
but he’s out in Dawson County Montana and she is listed there but ‘absent.’
Ernest has also just married Gladys Barr from Montana, and she is back in
Beaverhead County Montana living at her parents. Ernest will be out there later
and stay till he dies in 1965 in Butte Montana. She will be back in Mentor and

though. He married Dorothy Fern Johnson on September 26, 1926 and I guess they
got back together as when Dorothy was born March 30, 1907 and died here March
3, 1966, her obituary says she was married to Ivan Putman since 1926. He was
born April 12, 1906 and died here May 21, 1961. So
looks like Dorothy kinda took off for a bit and then came back forever. He
works for the Fisher Auto Body Company here in town as a stitcher. They made
General Motors cars for Chevrolet and Cadillac back then and up through the
1960s. The daughter Loraine Arlene was born October 27, 1927 and died December
21, 1994. She married Raymond Hanson August 9, 1947. Dutch folks out of
Jefferson County New York.
She is
66 WI. She is the widow of Harry Putnam from Massachusetts. They were here up
till 1910 and she was widowed in 1920. She has her daughter in law Edna 47 WI
with her. Edna Drew was married to Parker Putnam who is presently in Stephenson
County Illinois living in a YMCA. He says he is divorced, Edna says she is
married. Edna’s here in 1940 and ‘widowed’.

Chippewa County a son of John Putnam and Julia Adeline Wells. They were here in

listed as white, the rest as Indians. They were here in 1920. This whole County
is pretty much an Indian Reservation and has been for ages. Fred is a son of
Stephen Putnam and his first wife Caroline Wheeler from Winnebago County Illinois.
He was there in 1870, and married to Della in Iowa in 1900. Della is a daughter
of John Hamilton Putman (Dutch) and Basheba Brown (Indian). Fred and Della were here in 1910
and 1920.

son of Fred and Della. He is 38 WI and Mixed and all that. He has a new wife of
three years, Thelma 28 WI who is also mixed blood. They have Beryl 9 and Vergie
